Product Info
The Wüsthof Classic Ikon 20cm Chef's Knife is a total all-rounder — for mincing, chopping or cutting meat, fish, fruit and vegetables. It's the go-to chopper, slicer and dicer for many kitchen tasks and should be part of every professional and hobby cook’s basic equipment. The half bolster, the junction between handle and blade, reduces the weight of the knife, making it easier to handle. It also allows the entire blade to be sharpened more easily.
- 20cm Chef's Knife from the Wüsthof Classic Ikon series
- Drop forged from a single piece of chromium-molybdenum-vanadium steel and tempered to an optimal Rockwell 58 hardness
- This specialised high-carbon, stain-resistant alloy ensures that the cutting edge of the knife is both razor sharp and easy to resharpen
- Blade is masterfully honed by hand to an incredibly sharp edge, the entire length of which can be sharpened due to the partial bolster
- The perfectly weighted bolster gives the knife its heft and serves to protect your fingers
- The Ikon Series has a precision bolster angled towards the hand for exceptional comfort, control and balance — it's also tapered, allowing total-edge sharpening from tip to handle
- Features a beautiful, synthetic handle — stylishly contoured to give your hand comfort and control
- Stainless steel triple rivets secure the slightly curved, weighted handle to the blade while maintaining its elegant appearance and superb ergonomic comfort
- The blade is ground thinner than usual, so there is less resistance when chopping and slicing
- A computer controlled grinding and polishing of the blade ensures that there is a perfect tapering from bolster to tip providing you with a knife with maximum strength, balance and heft
Care Instructions
Knife Sharpening
All knives require regular sharpening. Wüsthof manufactures sharpening options that suit all of their knives, including whetstones, honing steels and pull-through sharpeners. See the sharpening range here.
Knife Storage
Wüsthof has a range of storage options to keep your knives safe: magnets, blocks, in-drawer organisers, and knife rolls. See the storage range here.
Dishwasher Instructions
Although some Wüsthof products are dishwasher safe, we do not recommend that your knives and scissors be put in the dishwasher. Blades can knock together, damaging them, and if not washed soon after use, corrosive food particles can damage the blade. Rather wash your knives as soon as possible after each use with warm water and a little detergent, rinse carefully and dry with a towel.
Warranty Info
Wüsthof knives have a 10-year warranty and will be repaired or replaced after thorough inspection if there are any defects in workmanship or materials. This warranty assumes proper care, maintenance and intended use of the knives.

German knives and cars - the best!
It took me a months worth of research and going to and fro to finally decide on these Wusthof's. I liked the idea of a sturdy German blade more to hack away at butternuts, chop, portion chickens etc. These were rated above Zwilling J. A. Henkels, although those are also some of the very best. I haven't regretted my purchase yet, they are beautiful. Wash and dry them immediately, never in the dishwRead more

The sharpest knife I own
This fella has a lovely grip, and slices and dices with ease, through anything I want to cook. Anything from onions, to chicken breasts quiver when they see me heading to them with my trusty Wusthof knife.
