Simple intuitive controls: one variable 5-speed dial including pulse, 3 preset recipe programs (ice crush, icy drinks, smoothie) and self-cleaning cycles
Unique asymmetric stainless steel blade sharpened and precisely angled, blends at 4 distinct angles to pull ingredients into the centre to work through it all
Adaptive motor and Intelli-Speed motor control senses contents and maintains the optimal speed to power through all ingredients
Comes with a 1.4L ribbed glass jar
The ribbed glass jar folds contents back onto the blades to create a powerful blending vortex to easily tackle tough ingredients
The lid seal is vented and has a removable ingredient measuring cap
Stable die-cast metal base and die-cast metal knob

I bought two of the K400 KitchenAid Blenders. I make Almond milk in them, I only have to soak Almonds for about 20 minutes, the machine is so strong, it makes Almond milk beautifully. I do not know what I did before these machines. I often use both machines for blending different things. HIghly recommend them. I just bought the Citrus Juicer and Grinding Mills.

Does everything you expect from a high-end blender, performance is flawless. I am however not a big fan of the jug design at the bottom because it doesn't clean well. Even when using the self-cleaning function and then cleaning by hand as well, a small amount of dirty liquid always seeps out from the bottom of the blades inside the jug after washing. Absolutely love the KitchenAid K400. It's powerful, easy to use, and feels solid and well made but it's also genuinely beautiful. I leave it out on the counter because it looks that good.

When it's on, it feels less like a blender and more like I'm summoning a very controlled kitchen spell "Smoothiosa Perfecta." A magical addition to the kitchen, even without a wand?

Performance is good. For an expensive higher end blender I expected better from KitchenAid. The dial is flimsy, cheap plastic and loose fitting. The self cleaning mode is more like a rinse mode. As the blade is attached to the base and jug it can't be removed to clean. It can be noisy on certain settings. I purchased this blender as it has a glass not plastic jug which I like.
