Specifications

Materials: 13% stainless steel knife, 1.2mm hardened stainless steel blade; synthetic handle

Care Instructions

Wash knives after use in warm, soapy water, dry immediately, and pop back into the knife block. Do not allow them to stand in water, or come into contact with a heat source. Remember not to use abrasive sponges on them either, in order to maintain their finish.

We do not recommend washing these knives in the dishwasher. In the dishwasher, blades can knock against one another, reducing the longevity of the edge, and water can creep in between the metal and the handle, reducing the life of the handle.

I can't help but feel a little disappointed after buying the Laguiole by André Verdier Steak Knife and Fork Set.

Completely let down by this product. I used this cutlery at a friends house who had bought hers in France. Loved it and decided to buy 8 place settings with the plan to buy more. They are lightweight, have a weird angle and even buckle when you press too hard on the forks! I cannot believe that it is an authentic product. I most certainly will not be buying more !

Just to clarify an issue as I notice some people are unhappy with the product. We are very pleased with our set of 6 colourful steak knives and forks.
Google search reveals that Laguiole is a style of knife exclusive to France.

This set is not only elegant but a real asset to my cutlery collection. It is perfect for steak and lamb chops but it can also be used for any other meat that needs a sharp knife. I only bought one set but am definitely getting another. I love the colours of the Spring Mix and it makes the setting of a table for a Sunday braai such fun.

I have admired and wanted this steak knife and fork set for as long as I can remember and it is beautiful, the only thing that surprised me it how light the cutlery is, I had thought it would be heavier and makes me worry if it is durable. But love the colours and the knives are very sharp.

We bought the Spring Mix set, and it's stunning! The knives work really well on steaks and meat, and there is even a cute little bee decal on the handle that you don't see in the pictures. The storage box is really well made and we've kept them in there, and it's fun to pair our meals with the colours we feel like using that day :)

I have always admired Laguiole's knives. I found out on this site that they were cheaper than in Japan and actually bought one at the store. The reviews seem to indicate that there are some shoddy products mixed in, but this set I bought is satisfactory and comfortable to use, with all six knives and forks being well made. The bee mark enhances my cooking.
