After much research on steak knives, Laguiole came up as the best, but on receipt of my package I was disappointed with the look and feel of the handle - it looks like cheap plastic.

I would not recommend this product to a friend.

Magnificent to look at, a beauty to be showcased on your kitchen counter. Even more stunning when removed from the knife block... French craftsmanship at its very best! Cuts through cheese, steak, chicken, tomatoes... superbly sharp and easy to handle.

The Knives look good, but they are not as sharp as I would like. Victorinox knives are thus far the leader in sharpness in my opinion.
Also the wooden block is not treated, thus had to oil it myself.

One cannot fault the product. The only issue I have is the fact the product is not cheap yet the packaging is rather poor for this quality product. I purchased these knives (14 sets) for our Executives and I feel somewhat apprehensive due to the inferior packaging.

A housewarming gift from my mom - am absolutely crazy about them! Proudly displayed in my kitchen. My husband loves them too - so much, in fact, that he has taken to setting the table before I even have the chance to, just so that he can decide who gets which colour! Quirky yet timeless. I waited 6 months to buy this and the wait was worth it. The knives are so sharp and elegant, I bought 12! I'll save up for another 6 pretty soon and then bring on the dinner parties! There is a link to care instructions and it does say dishwasher safe, but only on certain cycles, so just be aware of that. I'll come back with and updated review, in case there is dishwasher damages, but for now its looking very pretty in my kitchen! Read more

These steak knives are elegant, very sharp and perfectly balanced. I chose the ivory and they look like bone-handled knives, which is just what I wanted. My only reservation is the wooden block, which looks a bit tacky.

My wife is French and her name is Béatrice, normally shortened to Béa, so giving her these knives which have a Bee on the handle is apposite! Her relatives in France have these knives and after I saw and used them last year I wanted some of them. Personally I see nothing wrong with the wood block although I would prefer a tray. C'est la vie!

I also wonder why the matching forks are more expensive? But to me it is the knives that matter. Read more

These knives are really great - we previously bought the Laguiole knife & fork sets, and we really like them. So when it came to replacing our steak knives these were my first choice. The knives are great, but the wooden holder less so. It feels a little flimsy, for lack of a better word, and the knives don't really feel "stable" in them. But as for the knives themselves - a great purchase.

We love these knives. Cuts steak and all other meats like butter. I’ve even started to use these knives for food prep around the kitchen, because they’re so super sharp. Only reason for four stars and not five is that they sometimes feel a bit small in my (male) hands. We still use them every time we eat though.

Great looking pieces of cutlery. I got the forks as a gift after eyeing this set for a while now. Admittedly I am a little disappointed with the feel of it. The plastics aren't doing the rest of it any justice and also, you are not able to soak or put them in the dishwasher.

Alas, they look pretty and I hope they last longer than we would expect.
