• Pure sugarcane juice rum
• RSAWC – Refurbished South African Wine Cask is one of two favoured cask types for maturing rum at the Mhoba distillery
• Has a rich character of toasted French oak, married with ripe red fruit and a heavy South African wine influence
• Aged in a hot climate in barrels that once held distinguished, single-estate Cape wine, particularly from the Franschhoek wine valley
• Nose: Intriguing but it’s not long before one recognises the burst of red fruits that come racing to the forefront
• Palate: Rhubarb tart, burnt sugar, baked chocolate pudding and brandy snaps, or perhaps it’s Nutticrust biscuits
• Finish: A deeper finish than Bourbon cask, less sweet and more honeycomb, light red fruits, a merlot with ripe banana
