Product info
Van Loggerenberg Cabernet Franc is named as a homage to the home of Cabernet Franc in France, where it is commonly referred to as "Breton'. Crafted from two vineyard parcels, including a 2004-planted Loire clone vineyard, the blend indulges the senses with aromas of red and black berries, pencil shavings, rose, violets, and subtle, herbaceous notes. Naturally fermented with no commercial yeast or enzymes, it's a classic wine with influences from the French Loire style, that stays true to it's South African origin. Full bodied, textured and robust, it's a great pairing with a slow cooked stew, charcuterie or hearty aubergine melanzane.

About Van Loggerenberg Wines
Lukas van Loggerenberg makes his wines on Paarl mountain, and sources most of his fruit from Stellenbosch with important parcels coming from Franschhoek and Swartland. There is a luxuriousness and generosity to Lukas’ wines, but certainly not at the expense of balance or finesse. A total Loire Valley fanatic, both Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc are close to his heart. While Lukas is inspired by the likes of Touraine, Saumur, Chinon and Vouvray, he is certainly not out to produce replicas of these wines. His aim is to create great South African wines — quality is paramount..
