I don't believe that the quality of Smeg products is that great. I bought both a kettle and toaster within 3 months of each other. The kettles lid broke and the toaster packed up, both outside their warranty period. But, I had both products for less than 3 years. The design of Smeg products is great. I bought this as I have a kettle and a milk frother. My kettle developed a leak which does not attest to its quality. The service from Smeg is appalling - beyond appalling. I am finally getting a new replacement kettle after six months.
