Not worth the hype- needed to be replaced after 3 years
We bought this toaster as part of our wedding registry and for the price, we had high hopes that it would last. We have had it for three years and already two of the filaments have gone (one for each slot). We now have to toast each slice twice- once on each side. Smeg is overrated
I don't believe that the quality of Smeg products is that great. I bought both a kettle and toaster within 3 months of each other. The kettles lid broke and the toaster packed up, both outside their warranty period. But, I had both products for less than 3 years. Cheap toaster in a fancy shell
We replaced our cheap toaster from another retailer with a Smeg and I have on many occasions considered bringing the old one back out as it toasted bread better.
