I received my long-awaited new purple stand mixer on a Friday afternoon. It was not a difficult decision on what to buy myself for my birthday this year, the hardest part was choosing the colour. I had finally narrowed it down to Grape after weeks of deliberation. In my overwhelming excitement to open it I struggled mightily with the packaging, cat watching on smugly, waiting her turn to enjoy the boxes. Once opened I marveled at the pure shiny perfection of this most prized of kitchen tools. The following morning, not even pausing to get dressed or brush my teeth, I put on my cupcake apron and dived into the makings of the world's best 3 tiered red velvet cake only made possible by the startling efficiency of this legendary appliance. As I added the butter and sugar and began the creaming process I took photographs to record this most epic first use. Adding one ingredient after the other and just watching them magically incorporated (not holding my usual hand mixer and attempting to juggle ingredients and mess) was a revelation. I received my new pearl metallic KitchenAid Stand Mixer about two weeks ago. It is extremely solid and really built to last - the quality is quite evident. The motor is good and powerful and not as noisy as I expected. The dough hook is a real pleasure and makes kneading a breeze.
Mine came with the additional glass mixing bowl and it really is very useful having two bowls, particularly when making more complex recipes.

If you are a serious baker/cook, and would like to make bread dough or any other dough that requires 6-8 minutes of mixing, DO NOT TOUCH the KitchenAid Artisan Stand Mixer. It does look beautiful on your counter, but it DOES NOT have the motor capacity to handle this kind of job. Don’t be fooled by its beautiful design and big promises from KitchenAid, or the 5 year warranty. When your mixer will fail to deliver, they will quickly hide behind small print and blame YOU for the problem.
Better get a more solid product that can deliver what it promises, it costs more or less the same. You will not regret it! (As I did when I got my KitchenAid…)

Having been the proud owner of my Artisan mixer for 7 years I can only say it's the greatest investment I have ever made. Pretty to look at but wonderfully easy to work with; no fancy dials and buttons required by this baker. I also own the blender and food processor which all "aid" (and do not excuse the pun) me in my culinary endeavours.

Welcome to the Rolls Royce of kitchen appliances! What a GREAT product!!! My first mixing job was batter for rusks. Well after having crumbled the butter into the flour by hand in the past, I can certainly say this product did an excellent job! Not only was it fast but had a no nonsense attitude and got on with the job effortlessly! Secondly I had to mix in the liquids. This was also done without any strain. I must say I made a big batch of rusks to fit into two bread pans. Now in hindsight, the mixture was a little much but this did not deter the mixer at all. I was lured by the sexy curves of this machine but failed to actually look into what it is capable of doing! I would not buy this product if you are a serious baker. Look at the power outage, mixing bowl size etc. Not a value for money product in comparison with other brands. It does not cope with kneading of dough, wobbles extensively with heavier mixes, has a flimsy bowl cover and in my opinion the sales price is 70% the brand and aesthetic appeal. Not a fan at all and I believe there are other products on the market that offer much more bang for your buck! Read more

My wonderful (then partner) husband surprised me with this gorgeous baby for my birthday. I was battling to decide between the Kenwood and the Kitchenaid, but husband took matters into his own hands and decided that because I LOVE pretty things in my kitchen, I would surely love this beauty sitting on my counter top. He even matched the colour to my Le Creuset pots (something which even OCD me didn't think of). BUT I need to point out that Charlotte (as my Kitchen aid is known), is definitely not just a pretty face. Cake batters and doughs are a breeze and egg whites stand no chance! I am definitely not sorry with this purchase and I am no idea what I did before I had her. My only wish is that I could have one in every colour (*sigh*). Read more

I don't know how I managed with out it. Making a cake mixture took me about 3min, normally almost 10. Clean up was so fast I didn't even know it was done. LOVE it!!!!! Everyone must have one if they love to bake as much as I do.

Fantastic machine however I made a 3 cups bread on the weekend and find the dough hook is not long enough to reach the bottom of bowl where I found some of the flour wasn't mixed in with the rest of the mixture — I had to complete the kneading of dough on my table.

When our KitchenAid Artisan Stand was delivered it came in a huge box. My daughter immediately named it "The Monster" We only opened up the monster when the whole family was at home. We had to wait until the following day as my daughter was having a sleep over. Was the wait worthwhile? Absolutely! Got this amazing machine for Christmas along with the pasta machine attachment. From bread dough to cookies, there is nothing the KitchenAid can't handle. I've never been great with bread but the dough hook does all the work for you. Pasta machine has also resulted in hours of fun in the kitchen, hubby just loves rolling out and cutting the dough. Everyone should own a KitchenAid.

The KitchenAid Artisan is certainly a sexy new addition to my kitchen. The unit is heavy which means it doesn't slide around the kitchen counter even with a heavy dough mix on, the bowl grips nicely to the unit and the handle makes it easy to work with. The lift lever and power lever seem sturdy and are easy to adjust, even with cupcake mixture covered finge rs.
The motor purrs like a kitten, so with fingers crossed I hope that there is a tiger under the shiny red surface which will keep the machine mixing for years to come. Read more

My biggest dilemma was choosing a colour. I would have liked to be able to see what the mixer looked like in the various colours. I was contemplating (trying to visualise the actual mixer and how large it would look in my small kitchen in a specific colour was impossible). I love baking, especially for my family and all my kiddies birthdays.
My first creation with my new KitchenAid was for my sons 5th Birthday this past weekend - I made a version of your yummy rainbow cake. We had a western province themed birthday, so had white and blue layers in my cake and he loved it! (it was a hit with the adults too hehe.)
Before it was a huge task to hand mix and I always had to get my hubby in to finish off my mixing lol - yes its true hahah... But with my KitchenAid it was a walk in the park - easy peasy - no mess no fuss. This KitchenAid is all the inspiration I needed :-)

I bought a red KitchenAid stand mixer a week ago, and whilst I've only had time to use it once, its performance was fantastic! So easy to use, delivered great results very fast (made a very stiff meringue in under 5 minutes), the parts were all extremely easy to take apart and clean, and best of all, it looks gorgeous on my kitchen countertop. If you can find the money, I highly recommend it!

I absolutely love my new kitchenAid. I don't think you would fully appreciate this product unless you own one... I baked 3 different baked goods the first night i got it. The motor runs relatively "softly", and with the help of the lid which prevents the cloud of flour hitting the machine, it's a breeze to clean. I absolutely love this machine...

I used my mixer about 5 mins after I unpacked it to bake cookies. AND... I love it. It works like a dream. It is sturdy and strong, except for the splash cover everything is metal and you can see it is made to last. I love the fact that I can leave it to mix the butter and sugar while I waffle off to get the rest of the ingredients. I had only 2 items to wash and a quick wipe down and it was sparkling like new. I love my candy apple KitchenAid Mixer. If I could, I would take a bite out of it. I love the colour, the way it looks on my new kitchen shelf but most of all the sound it makes when mixing gooey cake batter and soft peaked meringue. You will not regret purchasing the KitchenAid Stand Mixer - it mixes cake batters and cookie/biscuit doughs in very short times. It has changed my baking life for the better! It is very sturdy and easy to clean and use. It is quite heavy to move around, so position it near the place you wish to use in the kitchen. It makes the lightest buttercream icing ever, and again, does so very quickly, and functions very quietly. Your kitchen is not complete without it. A must have for any baker! Well worth the cost. This item is so versatile I cannot imagine cooking without it. I made a lasagne recently and used to it chop all my veggies, then minced my own mince-meat, grated cheese in seconds and for dessert whisked batter and then made ice-cream.

I have wanted a KitchenAid mixer for ages and ages and when I could finally afford to buy it, I faced the agonising task of having to make a decision about what colour to choose.
They say that KitchenAid mixers last forever so you had better be happy with the colour you choose - mine was Grape.
I am totally in love with this machine - so much so that my son asked me whether I love it more than him (in case you are wondering, I love him more... maybe).
For someone who bakes so much, it is difficult to understand how I managed without it. It is a silent, wonderful machine that works brilliantly, is easy to operate and makes you feel like a pro.

After purchasing the Almond Cream KitchenAid for my wife's birthday (yes, I'm a cool husband) I decided to wait at least one year before writing a review.
It has now been a year and this elegant little cement mixer has worked and worked and worked and worked and I have come to anticipate the pleasantries that accompany its content purring like a child staring at the presents under the Christmas tree.
I don't know much about baking and all that, but I do know that I've seen industrial equipment giving up the ghost with a fraction of the workload that this KitchenAid has happily endured (even enjoyed). Plus it's really pretty and REALLY heavy, but the 'pretty' means I don't have to pack it away. Ever. It stands and works on the kitchen counter in view for all to see and admire.

The machine itself is a wonderful tool, there's no question about that. Sturdy and easy to use. However, the frosted bowl which accompanies the Frosted Pearl (beautiful colour), is brittle. Mine broke within 1 month of usage, on my third use, when it touched (as opposed to knocked) against the metal part of the machine. Far too brittle and one wonders whether the process used in frosting the glass compromised its structure. I replaced the frosted bowl with a metal one. Disappointing because the frosted bowl is aesthetically pleasing against the frosted pearl machine and it had a spout. Perhaps the unfrosted glass bowl would have been a good alternative but I did not want to risk another broken bowl and decided to play it safe with a metal one. Read more

I am so happy we bought the stand mixer. We are finding any excuse to use it (although we do not need to eat any more baked products after this cannot-be-active lockdown). My daughter chose the colour, because when she sets up house she will take it with her. I'm already starting to save up for when she leaves home....☺

This is an amazing mixer. It is very quiet and mixes quickly and effectively. You do need to lower the head once you have bought it as the factory setting does not quite reach the bottom of the bowl.
I do find the splash cover a bit flimsy and it doesn't sit snugly on top of the bowl.

The stand mixer is not only beautiful, but does the job. It's quite heavy but easy to use. Comes with a smaller bowl for smaller batch. Have used it for bread dough and pleased with results.

Before I bought this Kitchenaid Artisan, I did a lot of research.
Then I phoned my daughter and asked her what colour would she like to inherit one day - when I am done with it.
It gives a sense of solid reliability. It is very good with dough, particularly cookie dough.
It might be better than hand kneading for bread dough as well.

It's as sleek as they say. It's quiet. It's heavy and well-made. It belongs on a countertop, certainly not in a cabinet somewhere! Everything about it is strong, sturdy and beautiful. I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

The mixer is a bit pricey but know that this product is of such good quality it will last a lifetime! The settings are perfect from the slowest setting to the fastest. Also keep in mind that they have a lot of attachments so over time you can build on and use the machine for a lot of things.

Would never recommend KitchenAid, after 6 months of minimal home use, the machine stopped working. Warranty refused to cover and I had to pay repairs and Yuppichef refused to return the item — repairs took forever also. So disappointed with this item and Yuppichef's customer service. Stick to Kenwood rather.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I’m really sorry to hear how frustrating this has been — it’s definitely not the experience we want for our customers.
Regarding the repair, the issue was caused by the gear worm, which is made of nylon and designed to shear if the mixer is used in a way that could damage the motor. It’s there to protect the machine, but unfortunately it also means this specific part isn’t covered by warranty. That said, we completely understand how disappointing this feels.
The repair taking longer than expected was also understandably frustrating. This delay was unfortunately outside of the supplier’s control, but we’re truly sorry for the inconvenience it caused. We hope the mixer is now working well and giving you the performance you expected from it.

This stand mixer earned me so many brownie points with my other half! It's solid and isn't as loud as her older mixers. I wasn't sure what attachments would accompany it, but I was pleasantly surprised when it came with a few different mixing rods, as well as two stainless steel bowls. This machine is built to last.
