Product Info
This concentrated liquid stock from Nomu is made from natural ingredients — free from artificial flavours, enhancers, colouring agents and preservatives. In cooking, everything has a name, even those crispy brown bits at the bottom of the pan after you sear steak or roast a chicken. Known as the fond, those brown bits make a fantastic gravy to go over roast meats, and add a huge amount of flavour to soups and stews. And that's what this stock does.

- Vegetable stock: water, salt, dried glucose syrup, natural flavour, 2,4% onion, sugar, spices (with Celery), parsley, stabiliser (E415), modified starch
- Beef stock: water, salt, flavour, dried glucose syrup, 5% beef extract, modified starch, caramel sugar, sugar, maltodextrin, onion powder, spice, stabiliser (E415)
- Lamb stock: water, salt, lamb flavour, 11% lamb meat, sugar, dried glucose syrup, caramel sugar, modified corn starch, onion, garlic, spices and citric acid
- Chicken stock: water, maltodextrin, salt, flavour, modified corn starch, 2% rehydrated chicken meat, onion, sugar, spice, stabiliser (E415), acid (E270, E327), caramelised sugar
Care Instructions
- Storage instructions: Store in a cool, dry place and refrigerate after opening.
- A note on shelf life: NOMU Fond has an 18 month shelf life, while sealed. Once you take it home and open the bottle, we recommend refrigerating the open bottle. Even refrigerated, we suggest using within 4 weeks to ensure the best results.

I always keep one of each flavour in my kitchen. Really cannot beat this, unless perhaps you make your own organic stock from scratch. Few things out of a plastic bottle saves so much time and is this good.

Outstanding flavour

I have only tried the beef stock so far, but wow, was it amazing. The flavour is so good and tastes so real. It is extremely intense, so a little goes a very long way. Such an easy way to boost any sauce!

I can't buy any other stock brand anymore

After I tried the NoMU stock range I sadly cannot use any other cheaper brand stock anymore. Other brands taste like chemical additives and artificial plastic... I am hooked on NoMU stock! (Guess I won't be making homemade stock that often anymore...)

A stock to beat all stocks

The NoMU fond is delicious. You really can taste the difference between this and a more pedestrian stock. It's especially great in risottos and soups where the richness of the flavour comes through.

Get this stock

I used to make my own chicken stock since none of the store-bought brands seemed good at all, and one brand of stock ruined a leek soup I attempted.
I bought the chicken stock from NoMU and have used it in soups and sauces and it's always been great. Definitely worth not having to make chicken stock at home.

I use the veg stock in both veg and meat dishes and soups. It adds a nice subtle flavour and I do not need to add any additional salt. It is a must have in any kitchen!

Preservative free!

If you've ever looked at the ingredients of your regular stocks, you'll notice that there are many preservatives in them that you're better off not consuming. You're only alternative is to cook some chicken bones in water and make your own stock... that is until NoMU came to the rescue! Preservative free and easy to use in its liquid format. No more bone cooking for me.

Salty stock cubes... .No more!!!

The convenience of using stock cubes became a "major inconvenience" as one could not easily control the salt in-take. This new excellent product removes the problem without losing its flavour and viscosity and more importantly when time is of the essence it is an essential item.

NoMU makes a good quality liquid stock that dissolves easily, and has a herby flavour. The vegetable one particularly is not too salty, as is the case with many vegetable stocks.

All these stock flavours are great quality, but nothing I have been able to buy, neither in South Africa nor abroad, have come close to the excellent lamb flavour. Taste just like the best type of lamb roast you could hope for! Amazing basted onto chops instead of salt. Standard item in my fridge door!

Nomu is of great quality, and so is this chicken stock - it's my favourite. I enjoy the fact that it is already in liquid. Taste is authentic! Buying it from Yuppiechef is a convenience, as you don't always find them at the supermarket.

I had finally reached the end of my stockpile (excuse the pun) and realised that no-one had any stock due to the rebrand. Luckily, it was only a few weeks until it came back into stock!

I am very happy I tried the chicken fond, it is definitely the best stock ever and I use it in everything, even when cooking rice. I look forward trying some of the other stock types like beef and lamb. Will be buying this again.

The entire range of Nomu fond stocks is a must-have for food fundi's to transform ordinary meals to the sublime. The Beef Fond is lovely in any oxtail dish, gives super flavour to mince , french onion soup, hungarian goulash. The Lamb Fond is awesome in Italian Minestrone along with fresh basil. The Chicken Fond is great in a Thai Green Curry and the Vegetable Fond makes Eggplant Parmesan exceptional. Read more

The nice thing about this product is that it is liquid and easy to use. I don't know whether I would get it again as it is more expensive than the more conventional stocks.

Close your eyes, dip your finger into the stock and taste it. It's leg of lamb in a bottle. Concentrated (so it will last), good value and so authentic! Best stock I have ever tasted.

What more can I say except that I have stopped making my own stock since I started using this awesome stuff. No more trying to extricate those freezer bags of homemade stock from the freezer that have managed to freeze themselves around and through the freezer basket. Win!
