Besides being a great product it also wins the prize in having the lowest amount of carbs. So anyone counting carbs and needs a delicious chocolate drink this is it!!
Recommended for chocolate junkies like myself as it has the lowest amount of carbohydrates of all cocoas!

Rich, dark cocoa powder takes baking on to another level. Quality is superb. NoMU has a permanent place in my pantry cupboard now.

Inconsistent Quality

I have bought Nomu cocoa powder twice before and had good results each time. However, the last batch I bought (1kg) was simply awful. The cocoa beans had clearly been over-roasted as anything baked with this turned into the most acidic bitter creation imaginable. I tried this twice with tried and tested recipes and based on the taste and experience I can say with 100% certainty the powder is at fault. I wish I could say I was surprised... This is by far the best cocoa I have ever used. My mom's famous chocolate cake recipe tastes even better with NoMU - and I didn't think that was possible! This has become the only cocoa I ever use.

I am in an area now where this is not available at the supermarket. Luckily, not being able to find this in stores doesn't mean driving 250 km to the closest big town or Bloemfontein to get a hold of it. I can just order it here. Warning: Once you use this cocoa you will dearly hate all the others in the market.

I always try to find a better quality cocoa powder and I think I just fell head over heels for the NoMU Rich Dark Cocoa Powder!
It's amazing, my cake batter had a very smooth velvety texture and not to mention the rich chocolate taste.
Definitely worth the money!

I've always used the regular cocoa you buy at the local supermarkets and never tried anything else. But the NoMU Rich Dark Cocoa Powder is absolutely the best, perfect for any chocolate lover and it has made me realize quality does make a difference when it comes to baking. My chocolate cake tastes so much better using the NoMU cocoa powder. Definitely a must from now on in my baking supply!!

NoMu Cocoa powder is definitely a must have for any serious baker out there. It has an excellent flavour and brings about a rich dark colour when baked. This is my go to cocoa powder. Local is lekker - love shopping proudly South African!

I bake several types of chocolate cakes, including Black Forest cake, and there is no other cocoa powder that gives the dark richness to cakes or desserts that Nomu cocoa gives. I am happy to be able to shop at Yuppiechef for this product.

Full, rich flavour makes this one of the best cocoa powders available in SA. Dark and aromatic, it makes a fine cup of cocoa (try it Mexican-style) and a heavenly chocolate cake.

We looked hard for a bulk option, as the smaller units just add up the ZAR when baking frequently. This is good quality and the pricing makes it better than the smaller units. I would have given 5 stars, but the packaging (shorter bag in paper bag) is a bit inconvenient if you don’t know it’s there . Somehow I assumed it was just a lined paper bag , so cut it too high. This means the cocoa flows back passed the inner bag. Creating two pouring sources next time, so less controlled. Picky I know, but also not sure of the packet (outers) long term food safety if it has an inner sleeve. I am assuming it’s for moisture control purposes though. Perhaps a coated paper bag only would be more environmentally friendly and more convenient to pour. Read more

This is my second time round with this wonderful rich cocoa powder. No Cocoa powder comes close! When one opens the packet the cocoa aroma fills the air. Your chocolate cake tastes rich in chocolate.
