Product Info
Hosting a high-end dinner? The Ansela van de Caab from Muratie Wine Estate is the ideal wine to savour with fine food. This beautifully balanced Bordeaux-style red blend is named after a young lady, Ansela, who was born into slavery in the Cape. On her release in 1695, her love interest, Laurens Campher, brought her and their three children home to Muratie. Today, this award-winning wine celebrates the coming together of this early Cape family and gives a nod to patience and persistence.
- Ansela van de Caab Bordeaux-Style Red Blend
- A dark, intense and brooding wine that epitomises balance, with elegant tannins, fresh acidity and masterly oak treatment
- The nose promises cedar wood, cigar box and blackcurrants, with a distinctive herbaceous edge courtesy of the Cabernet Franc
- The palate delivers rich, savoury flavours of black olive tapenade, cassis and some perfumed sandalwood
- Has a long finish that develops from fruit to savoury, and ends with an enticing combination of the two
- Best savoured with the very finest culinary offerings
