Miele 2000W Allergy Bagged Cylinder Vacuum Cleaner

I bought the Miele Allergy Vacuum Cleaner over 3 months ago and its been the best appliance I've bought so far. Suffering with allergies, especially being allergic to my cats, I had to find a solution. After reading a number of reviews, I decided to go for the Miele. The reviews that I read prior to purchasing mentioned only 2 negative aspects:

1) the cable is not long enough and
2) the bag requires changing and can be costly.

I have not found any truth to these two statements. The cable is longer than what I need. I only need to plug the vacuum in at one plug point but then again I do have a small flat. Secondly, I have not needed to change the bag yet (it's been 3 months). You get one free bag with the vacuum cleaner and will need to purchase a box of bags at a later date. The box contains 4 bags and filters. From what I have been able to calculate, a box of 4 bags should last a year unless you have a large house, in which case you may need to buy 2 boxes. A box costs approx. R200, so it really isn't that expensive. If you have serious allergies, it's best that you use a self-sealing bagged vacuum cleaner like the Miele. If you use a bagless vacuum cleaner, you will still need to expose yourself when emptying out the dirt.
My absolute favourite accessory: the dusting brush. I have not picked up a dust rag or feather duster since I've had my Miele. And the dust stays away longer!! Trust me!

The Miele, for me, has been the best investment that I could make in a vacuum cleaner and I trust that it will give me many years of service. I have already recommended this vacuum to a friend who recently bought herself a Miele and she thanked me. Last word: you can't go wrong! Read more

I've owned a few vacuum cleaners but always gone for the strongest, cheapest ones I could find. I bought this after reading a review on the Sweet Home which says the Miele vacuums are the best, and I'm so happy I bit the bullet and went for it.
Things I love:
All the little extra parts/heads for the vacuum are stored inside the vacuum so you don't have them lying around.
The speed settings - you can go from really gentle to really powerful.
Sound - this is a pretty quiet machine.
Works well - I was vacuuming up pet hair that must have been there for ages, the house had been vacuumed the day before but when I got this I wanted to test it out and I could not believe how much pet hair was coming through the system!
It looks really good and stores well
Plug spring back motion works excellently.

What I don't like:
At this point, not much to add here. But if I had to dig, I'd say I could do with an even longer extension arm so I could reach easier into really high places that I want to clean. Read more

Looks good, works like a dream! Almost had a panic attack when our old vacuum called it quits but within a couple of days the new and improved version arrived safely packaged with love and care by Yuppiechef.

All the components have a sleek interlocking mechanism so I don't have to worry about the pieces coming apart mid vaccuum and the variable settings for the different surfaces makes sure I get max dirt and dust possible off the floor and into the bag! Love love love! Read more

Worth the high price tag. It cleans beautifully - very quiet yet very powerful. A neatly designed machine with tidy accessories. The cord length is quite adequate, and it stows effortlessly. Handy being able to increase or decrease the suction power with your foot if you need to. The dusting brush is super - I just hope it lasts as long as the machine. The tubes and connectors are all sturdy, very well made, and just click into place. What a pleasure to use this vacuum cleaner! And best of all - to buy a machine that is designed and genuinely MADE in Germany! Read more

I have been coveting this vacuum cleaner for some time now. I finally decided to take the plunge and buy one - I am not disappointed. It works great, cleans thoroughly, and makes so much less noise compared to my old vacuum cleaner. Definitely worth the money.
