I have the pink one and I've used it for zesting lemons mostly. It's really sharp so I'm glad of the blade cover (the label is very difficult to get off though so I just left it on). You just need to squeeze the cover a bit to get the blade in initially. I think the only issue with this item is the cheap looking silver/grey plastic part in between the blade and handle - I think this will peel in time but let's hope I'm wrong. I think the blade is made in USA but the handle and assembly is done in Mexico. Overall it's a good purchase. Read more

Sharp blade, but the product is not without some design flaws.

Fingers beware! This little zester is very, very sharp. Grating parmesan is a breeze, zesting lemons don't leave a sour taste in my mouth anymore. The protective sheath will save this baby from hurting you from the drawer...

I love how super fine the teeth are and the long blade. This zester works equally well on semi-hard to hard cheeses, as it does with chocolate, nutmeg and citrus zest. My mom's also getting one after using mine, it's a great kitchen investment.

It is by far the best way to zest, shaves only the outer skin, no pith. so you only get the flavour you want. It's razor sharp.

This is my 3rd one, cause it's also the perfect gift. Very few people buy it for themselves...

I discovered Microplane years ago and their products never fail to impress. This device captures all the citrus zest in the fold of the steel which is easily removed with a gentle tap or scrape. Just be very careful of fingers on the sharp blade side and wash with a bristle brush to avoid grating fingers or sponges.

After many years of buying zesters that either break or just couldn't do the job properly, I splurged on this. It is, without a doubt, the best zester I have ever used.
It zips through everything from lemon peel to parmesan in no time. The long handle makes it easy to protect your hands and the folded edges ensure that everything you zest falls neatly onto a plate and easily scrapes off.

This micro plane is a gem to have in the kitchen - it makes using fresh ginger and garlic so easy.

I have only used it on limes since receiving. Added zest to a tuna salad for that extra lime flavour, and turned a classic margarita into a cocktail popping with bursts of lime zest... The possibilities are endless!

Comfortable grip, super-sharp blade, fine grating action – grates only the outer skin – no bitter pith.
Relatively easy to clean (an old toothbrush does the trick) and very safe storage unit.

Excellent product. The grip is large and very comfortable. It makes short work of zesting any fruit and the zest comes out of the blade easily, also a breeze to clean. The thick plastic cover protecting the blade makes storage hassle-free.

Grated fresh ginger with it and it is amazing how the grater cuts through the 'hairs' of the ginger. You don't even have to grate over a bowl. It comes out a beautiful puree at the back. Love love my new zester.

I love this product. It’s sturdy and well built and the extra length is perfect for quick zesting. It’s very sharp, so be careful. I have the microplane gloves to make sure I don’t cut myself.

I've wanted one of these for as long as I can remember. A few times I came close to buying it, but then removed it from my cart because it felt like too much of a "splurge" purchase. What a wonderful discovery of one of the best kitchen gadgets I have ever bought. I used the Microplane this morning to zest lemons, and what a joy it was to obtain fine long strands of zest compared to the short thick variety using a standard grater. I can highly recommend this product. It is worth every cent.
