MasterClass Professional Safety Oven Gloves

I bought these a while back, and they're my go-to kitchen gloves. The "Glove" factor is worth gold - being able to wear and have your full hand dexterity available, unlike oven mitts which seem purpose-designed to make you drop things.

They're also quite (but not totally) heat resistant - after a while you can feel the heat, but maybe I've got sensitive hands - and that's good enough for me.

Where they lose points though is something not mentioned anywhere - They are *not* liquid proof. Nor liquid resistant. Indeed, when you tip your lovingly roasted tomatoes in olive oil into a serving bowl and in a moment of poor life choices and distraction spill some of the rather hot liquid onto your glove, you'll discover very quickly that actually they let that beautiful tasty magma pass right through to your skin, where they then hold it.

Saying that, what kind of a cook are you if you're not willing to blister the skin off your hands every now and then? So I still use them, just more carefully. Much much more carefully. Read more

Wondergloves!

I love these gloves for the following reasons: They are not attached by a piece of cloth; every finger goes into it, not like oven mitts, that are very hard to grasp something. These gloves give freedom of movement for each finger and hand. Best of all, the heat does not come through, no matter how hot your oven.

Wonderful gloves, the 'fingers' makes it easy to handle hot and heavy pots and pans. Excellent product and very heat resistant... Love it.

Two minds

I am in two minds about this product. They work for keeping the heat off your hands, they free your hands to do fiddly things as they have ‘fingers’, they extend beyond the wrist, so that’s all good. But they are not easy to slip on and off, they are very warm to wear in our summer heat and, this might just be me, they fit very snuggly on the arm and that’s not comfortable for me. I still use them when I have a very hot pot to take out of the oven but they are not my first choice for everyday cooking. Read more
