KitchenAid Artisan 4L Food Processor

Overall, I am very pleased with the KitchenAid food processor. It has a lot of functions and is a stylish addition to my kitchen!

Pros: Great for chopping, slicing and mixing. I love the different blades and the fact that I can change the slicing thickness. I also really like the fact that I have 2 difference sizes of chopping bowls, great for small and large jobs. I have used the juicer and egg whip functions. Both are great, though I find myself primarily using the chopping, slicing and grating functions. The retro design is also really cool.

Cons: This puppy is HEAVY. I leave it on my kitchen counter all the time, but I would use it much less if I had to take it in and out out of a cupboard. The PBA plastic is more brittle than other plastics; I noticed a chip in the underside of the lid, which must have happened during washing. I've only had this for 4 months, so that's pretty quick for a chip. Small food bits can get trapped in the top of the lid (where the black plastic piece is attached). It is a little frustrating that I can't get this part of the appliance totally clean, though nearly all of the the modern multi-function food processor reviews I read mentioned some issue with food getting trapped on the sealing components, so I think this is just a general food processor issue if you are going for one that does more than just chop. The dicing function is the only function that hasn't lived up to my expectations. Watching videos and reviews, I was amazed by the lighting-quick dicing function of the KitchenAid (fresh salsa in seconds!!!). In reality, I've found this to be much slower and messier. Soft foods (like tomatoes) get immediately smashed between the slicing blade and the dicing disk. Firm foods (like potatoes) just don't work at all. I've only been able to use the dicing function with a handful of fruits and veggies that have just the right texture (e.g. cucumbers), and even then food gets caught between the blade and dicing disk, requiring cleaning/clearing every few minutes.

Overall I am happy with my KitchenAid and would recommend it to a friend. It works really well for the functions that I use most frequently. My only words of caution would be to someone who is buying this primarily for the unique dicing function. Read more

I'm very happy I made the decision to buy this product. It is the most versatile product that I ever bought. It is made of a solid foot and the plastic bowls don't feel like cheap plastic, knives are very good quality and the case where they fit in is practical, everything has his place. The dicing kit works perfectly even for tomatoes (take tomatoes that are not to ripe). My cheese I put in the freezer for 30 min before I grate it and everything works perfect. I can not explain in words how happy I am with my KitchenAid Food Processor. It makes my life so much easier. We have recently started the keto diet and I make my own bread using almond flour, flax/linseed flour and sunflower flour. If I can not find the flours, I make my own ground flour by putting the seeds and nuts into my machine.

I just love all the attachments and all the possibilities it offers me, making me look like a skilled chef while I am just a dedicated foodie. Read more

This product is a real plus to any kitchen. Some features I might not use, but that's ok, as salad making has become a breeze. It is extremely well made, and worth the money spent.
