- Quick churn time to make ice creams, gelatos or sorbets in less than 30 minutes
- Once completely frozen, the double walls of the bowl lock in the freezing temperatures, ensuring thorough and even freezing of the ice cream batter throughout the entire mixing process
- The freeze bowl is compatible with all Tilt Head Mixers except for models: KSM3316, and KSM3317 and all Bowl-Lift Mixers except for models: 5KPM5, 5K5, 4KSM5, K5SS, KSM5, KSM50, KSM500, 3KSM5, 9KSM5, and KSM450
- Redesigned assembly and new handles easily connect to the stand mixer
- Redesigned mixing dasher rotates inside the bowl to spread, scrape and mix for even freezing
- Store the freeze bowl before use in the freezer for a minimum of 16 hours. 24 hours is recommended
- If you want a firmer consistency, store the ice cream in a shallow airtight container in the freezer for 2-4 hours, don't store it in the freeze bowl
- NOTE: If you are making an ice cream style that requires you to heat the ice cream base, such as custard, you will need to let it cool completely before adding it to the freeze bowl

After only three uses, the ice cream maker began leaking a blue liquid, a problem so prevalent that it has its own dedicated support page on the US KitchenAid website. Regrettably, the South African distributor support is nonexistent.
