Osti Stainless Steel Cheese Slicer

Having had an Osti Cheese Slicer for a couple of years, I raved about it to my daughter, and she asked if she could have one for her birthday. She is delighted. I would definitely replace mine if anything happened to it!

I have been using Osti Cheese slicers for many years. They work for me. My previous one finally had to be retired, after more than 20 years (!) of service. I was so delighted to see this stainless steel model. Here's to the next 20 years, plus.

How do people cut cheese without one of these magical little gadgets?? I just can't cut cheese straight with a knife. This makes the perfect slice and you can choose what thickness by using either side.

The best cheese cutter you can get. This replaced one that was at least 40 years old. Opt for stainless steel as the plastic bits eventually broke on my old one.

Very disappointed with this product. The wire was constantly popping out when cutting cheese — was only used a few times before breaking completely.

On Saturday I purchased the slicer and what a big disappointment. First of all, there is hardly any difference between the thin and thicker slice and the thin "blades" stretched after the first use.

I will carry on using my vegetable peeler which gives me thin slices and works much better. What a waste of a purchase.

Had to replace my old cheese slicer that looked like this one because I lost it over December holidays. Have used it for 10+ years and can't live without it. It works perfectly! Helps you cut even slices and not waste cheese like you do with a regular knife. And the wire is easily replaceable if it breaks, which rarely happens if you keep the tension on the wire right.

After 3 months the wire broke at the handle connection, I most probably got a dud one, as I don't think they would all be like this? We have only used it for cheese, so nothing out of the norm.

Compared to the previous cheaper wire slicer that I used, the simple mechanical brilliance of the Osti slicer more than compensates for its higher price. Tension adjustment and wire replacement are so easy with the Osti one.

So very disappointed in this product. The wire snapped off within the first use. Used the replacement wire and the same thing happened. Biggest waste of money!

Have had mine for many years. The trick is to make sure that you insert the wire correctly. It has to be as tight as possible to cut perfectly every time.

The wire will snap if used on hard cheeses but lasts when used on Gouda and Cheddar, easy to clean and durable.
