I use this for crushing seeds. It works very well in making them into a very fine powder in a few seconds. Sorry I am not a coffee drinker so can't give you feedback in that department.

For the better!
I am super happy with my purchase and the divine fragrance that fills the kitchen when I grind coffee beans is a fantastic 'fringe benefit'. Using freshly ground coffee's also takes the taste to another level. Buying this was worth every cent.

I wouldn't do coffee in this, the blades work too rough. But it certainly grinds like a mofo when you put spices in there. I turned a cupful of rock hard mustard seeds into what could pass as Pronutro within a few seconds.

Thank you for the opportunity to comment on the krups grinder. I have used many other grinders but never satisfied with the results.
I purchased it for grinding ready bought ground almonds for making macarons because it has to be sifted it needs to be extra fine and this appliance does the job in seconds. No more wasting expensive almonds that stay behind the sift.
Every bit ground perfectly fine.

Great looking unit. Easy to use and clean. I use it primarily to make oat bran flour and it is excellent. Capacity could be bigger and the 20 second continuous operation time limit is a little restrictive for flour making.

This nifty little grinder now accompanies my Aeropress and I on all our travels... I previously used to have to pre-grind beans to take with me, but after a couple of days the grind would lose flavour. Now, I always have freshly ground coffee to enjoy!

I've only used it for grinding coffee, which it has no problem with. It's easy to use and nice and compact. I would recommend getting a brush of sorts to wipe it out after each use though - just to prevent build up over time. But all in all, very happy with my purchase!

This product does the job! I feel like a proper coffee connoisseur grinding my own beans. The only thing that would be tremendously helpful is if the inside was detachable for easy cleaning. However, for coffee and future spice grinding, I'm pretty chuffed with this little grinder.

The Krups Coffee Bean and Spice grinder is a no nonsense efficient little machine. Very suitable for the normal house kitchen.
With its compact size, it packs away in most places and has the versatility to grind from fine to coarse.
Price wise - very reasonable.

This grinder worked amazingly well for grinding up small quantities of spices but after being used 4 or 5 times the blades are jammed and the motor whirs uselessly!

This grinder is versatile if wanting to grind more than coffee beans; great for spices, breadcrumbs, nuts etc. When grinding coffee though, you want to have a consistent grind that is ideal for your method of brewing; using a french press, pour-over dripper, stove top unit, aeropress etc. With this grinder it is difficult to achieve a consistent grind - every time it is a guessing game, the longer you press the button the finer the grind. I purchased this coffee grinder in November 2018 and it worked well for the first three months. However, over the last month, it has slowed down and last week completely seized up.

The first time it seized up, I moved the blade manually and it worked again. However, it is now completed seized and does not work at all.

Very disappointed as it was not the cheapest grinder from Yuppiechef, so I assumed that it was a quality product.

This sleek and powerful little machine grinds coffee beans in seconds. I also tried cumin seeds and nuts in it, with equally excellent results. It easily cleans with a small brush. Grinding a little rice gets rid of lasting smells and oil.

I have just bought this. I viewed it in January 2021 but had to wait for it due to covid, and am glad I did. The nicest surprise is the slant of the machine. When emptying ground coffee into a canister the shape of the lid performs like a jug, with no spillage of coffee powder, an excellent additional feature.

Poor design, lid difficult to take off and as a result, ground coffee scatters all over the place. In addition, the blade is not detachable so very difficult to give it a thorough clean in the event of having used it for different spices or whatever.

I had my last coffee grinder for years - an inexpensive Moulinex that came with the old jug blender - and used with complete confidence for everything from sugar (when I ran out of icing sugar) to garlic, to black pepper and olive oil, spices and coffee - because the working parts could be submerged in a basin of hot, soapy water.

I certainly don't feel comfortable mixing garlic and coffee, let alone adding oil to a grinder that relies on kitchen paper, paintbrushes and stale bread or raw rice to be cleaned.

Basically the risk of flavours contaminating each other, and rancid spices and coffee, render this appliance a dismal failure.

After using it when we first bought it, I hunted online for instructions on how to dismantle it to wash it and found the rice/stale bread advice.

In fairness to Krups, this appears to be a common problem across brands. But who designs these things? Since the on-pack text calls this a coffee and spice grinder, it's not like I want to use it for more than it was designed for. But I don't want garlic flavoured coffee. Or olive oil flavoured icing sugar. Or even just rancid old coffee residue.

So I've resorted to the pestle and mortar I used after my old grinder died of old age, to grind garlic, black pepper and rosemary.

It might be time to do an analysis of available brands to see which can be washed, and not just wiped clean.
