The cooking thermometer has taken the guess-work out of jam making. It clips easily onto the side of the pot and is amazingly easy to clean.

I ordered this last week and after using it once and trying to clean with only dishwashing liquid and my fingertips the printed lettering was starting to smudge. After a second use I cleaned it even more gently and the lettering and guage was starting to blur. What is the point if you cannot read the exact temperature?

Just as it looks on the website and really easy to use. My only issue is that the hook to attach the thermometer onto the pot isn't very easy to use, but otherwise this product is great!

Sturdy construction. I accidentally dropped this from chest height onto a tiled floor and expected the glass to be broken. Not a mark anywhere and glass still firmly in correct position. I would have liked to compare its temperature to the digital thermometer that I bought with it, but unfortunately that one was faulty and is being replaced.

The best feature is the adjustable clip on the back that clips onto the pot and leaves your hands free. The temperature is easy to read and the different stages for sugar are marked making it easy to see when the correct temperature has been reached.

This thermometer is just the ticket - as the one that I brought with me when we emigrated to Africa belonged to my mother and I treasured it for years. I found it recently hidden in the back of a cupboard obviously broken! Now I start to strip our kumquat tree and start making marmalade for our guests to enjoy.

The thermometer clips on the side of the pan and gives very clear readings in both Centigrade and Farenheit with convenient temperature markers for various uses - e.g 'sterilise'; 'jam' etc. It is robust, but needs to be treated with respect, and the care and use instructions conveniently written on the back should be noted and followed. My last similar thermometer (not this make) gave up on me after several years because, I suspect, I 'shocked' it too often by putting it directly into boiling liquids instead of bringing it up to temperature as prescribed! This is a well-designed piece of equipment, great value and should remain useful for a long time in the home. The only possible down-side may be the longevity / visibility of the inked or painted temperature markings after much repeated use, although such useage would not be expected in a domestic environment.

So big skill upgrade!! I can FINALLY make FUDGE!!! (but only if I use this) Best gadget ever! If you looking for a sturdy (not plastic) thermometer, I really recommend this one. It even has labels on it saying "Soft Ball Stage" So I don't have to figure out EVER AGAIN what that means in fudge making terms! Yay! I can move on with my life LOL

I am very happy with my new thermometer. Made peanut brittle for the first time in my life and it came out perfectly (with the help of my new Silpat baking mat as well). You need to make large quantities though as the immersion mark is high, but still worked very well.

I hadn't owned this cooking thermometer very long, and already my neighbour has borrowed it, and she, like me, thinks it is great. No more worrying whether the right temperature has been achieved, testing for wrinkles on samples dropped on saucers, minute after minute!!! Perfect tool for heating sugar to extreme temps. Stands nicely in pot and is sturdy - no concerns about it falling into extremely hot candy. Worth paying that little bit extra.

It's one of my new favourite items in my kitchen. I am not a baker but because of my thermometer I tried a new recipe for churros. They were perfect as I could measure the temp of the oil constantly. Very happy 😊

I purchased this product after reading the many excellent reviews on this site. I was greatly disappointed. I found it large and bulky for my saucepans and pots. It has a clip to hook onto the side of pots/pans but this is not strong enough and the thermometer falls down into the pot which is very cumbersome. Additionally, after just 3 uses the thermometer wouldn't read past 100 deg Celcius. I'm not sure if I just ended up with a bad one, but would definitely not recommend this product to anyone else, especially not as a candy thermometer. Read more

I've bought four of these thermometers before and the first two were great, but I had to replace them because the numbers faded. The third gave me incorrect readings, resulting in a lot of flops. It's still brand new, but I can't use it. I bought this one and tried another brand. The proof is in the pudding...
