Makes great froth!
Item reviewed: 6 Cups
Review by Leah T. on 12 December 2012, 9 days after purchase
It made wonderful froth the first time I used it. I had read several reviews, and took some advice from them.
I warmed 200ml of cold milk in the microwave for 90 seconds. Then poured the milk into the frother, and pumped 30-40 times. Then poured the froth into a cup with espresso.
Tastes just as good as restaurant cappuccino, and had the perfect amount of foam.

Works so well and produces perfect froth every time!
Much simpler and easier to clean than the electric versions.
Also produces a more consistent froth than the other electric types I've had. I recommend this one.

For the finest milk froth
Item reviewed: 6 Cups
Review by Megan B. on 4 July 2014, 9 days after purchase
This milk frother makes the most fine, thick milk froth, which is essential in making a good cappuccino. It's easy to use and to clean. I'm using it on a gas stove, and combined with hand-powered espresso maker, I have a perfect cappuccino-making system requiring no electricity.

Manual is King
Item reviewed: 6 Cups
Review by Wil P. on 20 November 2013, 9 days after purchase
I was surprised at how well this works! Invited friends over to compare the froth from this Bialetti with the electronic product. We all agreed Manual is King! And now you can have Cappuccinos up in the mountains as well. Light, sturdy, effective. And cheaper than his electronic brothers. Easy choice.

Dense good milk foam at last
Item reviewed: 6 Cups
Review by Bev P. on 25 November 2013, 10 days after purchase
I have bought all sorts of gizmos over the years to froth milk but none of them produced a dense enough foam. This product does. You are even left with some in the cup to spoon out.

This simple milk frother works like a charm. It is well made, produces lovely thick froth, super quick and easy, and also very easy to wash after use. I'm very happy with it... just drinking too much coffee as a result!

Coating does not last
Item reviewed: 6 Cups
Review by Pete H. on 26 May 2020
The frother works well but after a few months of use the non-stick coating on the inside of the frother started to peal off and drop into the milk when using the frothing handle. Can now no longer be used!

Better than my cappuccino machine!
Item reviewed: 6 Cups
Review by Matthew B. on 12 August 2015, 9 days after purchase
I recently gave up using my manual cappuccino machine after two years, opting instead for a stove-top mocha pot. But then I needed a way to froth my milk.
Cue the Bialetti! Perfect accompaniment for achieving stove-top flat white nirvana. Good solid build quality which I'm sure is going to outlast my mocha pot and a fat, ergonomic handle making it easy to pour delicious microfoam; I would definitely recommend this product. Read more

Great, but a little on the big side
Item reviewed: 6 Cups
Review by Helen M. on 21 October 2015, 11 days after purchase
This milk frother works incredibly well at making a dense foam. However, it is very large and so not really appropriate for making one cup of coffee. I have, in the past, seen smaller ones, but the only one I have been able to find in SA has been almost a litre.
I would recommend this product to a friend.
Works perfectly

Very well designed and great quality. Makes frothed milk for the perfect cappuccino in a few strokes. What I like us that it will work on stove and gas tops, perfect for camping as well, a great product.

Too much effort
Item reviewed: 6 Cups
Review by Nicola V. on 28 January 2016, over 1 year after purchase
This frother works well, but it takes so much effort to froth the milk, as you have to manually pump up the froth and then there is only enough for a cup or two, we haven't used this product a lot.
I suppose it would be loved by a coffee connoisseur who only makes a cup or two for themselves.

The Bialetti milk frother makes the sought after micro foam in no time at all. There are a couple of coffeshops in my area who can do with this. I just wish they would make one suitable to use on an induction stove.

I have used a number of frothers over the years and this is hands down the best I’ve tried. It is easy to clean. It produces a rich, creamy froth, even with fat free milk. We find that some bottles of milk just don’t froth well in our electric frother and yet even these bottles froth beautifully in the Bialetti frother.

This is my second Tuttocrema and only reason I have 2 is to cater for more than 4 people at a time! The froth it produces is amazing and consistent. The combination of a good moka pot and you can make better than restaurant quality cappuccinos at home in a few minutes. I would definitely recommend this product!

Extremely easy to use, nice thick frothy milk.

Review by Dylan M. on 15 January 2019
After a lot of research, I finally got a Tuttocrema for making cappuccinos/lattes at home. This device is ridiculously easy to use, super easy to clean and makes really awesome, consistent, frothy milk.
Seriously - I put enough milk for our 2 cappuccinos into the pot, put it on the gas ring for 1:40 (basically while I make the coffee - adjust for what temp milk you like), then put the lid/plunger on top and froth vigorously for 10 seconds. Then just run the plunger under a cold tap to clean, swirl and tap the pot on the counter a couple times to loosen up the larger bubbles and then pour into the cups. Another rinse of the pot under the cold tap and you're done - no need for sponges, soap, etc (it's all Teflon coated inside). Read more

Great product but...

Review by Jaco D. on 26 May 2020
In summary (aka tl;dr):
Pros - Easy to use and quite durable
Cons - Black coating comes off rather quickly, does not give much better results than the cheaper counterparts, expensive
I received this as a birthday gift from my dear wife as she's well aware that I'm a bit of weird coffee person. Prior to owning this item I was using a (very) inexpensive french press to froth my milk. Surprisingly, with exactly the same results.
Which brings me to my first point. I find the price rather cheeky as you can very literally achieve the exact same results with the cheapest french press you can find. Keep that in consideration.
I also need to mention that it takes a bit of trial and error to achieve a good froth with these french press style milk frothers. You'll have to experiment with temperatures and different amounts/types of milk to get the best results. That being said, you can make some very tasty milk for your home brew.
Why then buy it in the first place? For me, two reasons - you can use it on the stove and it's durable. We camp quite often and traveling with the cheap, glass french press always made me nervous. Also, I couldn't use the glass one on the camp stove, so I had to heat the milk in a different container which became a bit cumbersome after a while.
What was rather disappointing (hence the 3 star rating) is that the black coating started flaking off quite quickly. That being said, I've been using this item every day, at least twice a day, for the past 7 months. After about 4 months the coating starting flaking where the plunging mechanism makes contact with the container. More specifically, at the bottom of the container in the middle and on the sides where the plunging mechanism spends most of its time scraping the sides.
I personally did not expect this from a product at this price point or from this brand. You can probably solve this by purchasing the even more expensive stainless steel counterpart but if you have a microwave and you don't need the durability just get an inexpensive glass french press.
Actually, even if you are concerned about durability you can purchase at least 8 cheap glass french presses for this price. That should last a while.

This milk frother is worth every penny! Why we waited so long to buy it, I'll never know! Every single time we use it, it gives us the creamiest and most delicious froth. It's wonderfully easy to use and to clean. So that makes it my favourite gadget in my kitchen!

Great little frother for gas
Item reviewed: 3 Cups
Review by Robert F. on 27 March 2022, 12 days after purchase
Bought this as I liked the idea of heating and frothing the milk in one container, both at home and camping, and pouring from there. Used it a couple of times and has worked great. The lid is a little more flimsy than I had anticipated but still works well. The smaller option does enough milk for about 2 small flat whites.

Simply the BEST!! Milk-frother.

I’ve just received this gem. Perfect for my one cup of cappuccino. I’ve had the 6 cup frother for many years but it’s beginning to show signs of wear.
I use Almond milk and these frothers make the best foam. I’m really so enjoying my new purchase.
Thank you Yuppiechef for your usual outstanding service. Always a pleasure to deal with, plus fast delivery.

Works well but has some drawbacks
Item reviewed: 6 Cups
Review by Jonny M. on 11 September 2015, 9 days after purchase
This product works very well if you want to make more than one cup of coffee and enjoy the process of making milk froth.
It is more difficult to make one cup of coffee with it and one is forced to have a latte rather than a cappuccino or to discard the excess milk.
It takes a few minutes and so is a different experience from the instant milk frother experience.
The milk thermometer is not really necessary as I found that the best froth is made in the cooler milk and if one waits for the needle to be in the red wedge for "best froth" this is not the case and the coffee comes out too hot as a drink.
Using the Bialetti mocha pot and the Tuttocrema together on the same hot plate/area and starting with cold water and cold milk works perfectly though. When the coffee is ready, froth the milk and you will get a perfect cup. As I say if you like the process of coffee making, this will be good for you. If you want near instant coffee then you won't like this.
