âChocolate and strawberry pizza for dessert? Count us in!
We know this might be a polarising pizza, but donât knock it till youâve tried it! Thereâs no written rule that says pizza has to be savoury and, since very little about Valentine's Day should be savoury anyway, we think this is a definite winner.
Sinfully delicious and simple to make, this chocolate and strawberry pizza combines everything we love about pizza and chocolate, plus it's something fun to creatively cook together while sharing a laugh and trying not to get chocolate on your nose.
âRecipeNutella and strawberry dessert pizza
We recommend cooking your pizzas in an Ooni pizza oven or on a pizza stone in a conventional oven for this recipe.
What you'll need
- Pizza dough â store bought is perfectly fine
- 1 jar Nutella
- Fresh strawberries
- Additional toppings (optional): marshmallows, crushed nuts, banana
Method
- Fire up your pizza oven to 500ËC or preheat your oven to 250ËC â if youâre using a pizza stone, let this preheat as well.
- Divide your dough in two and roll out your pizza bases to the desired thickness â #DateNight.
- Place your pizza bases on the pizza stone and bake for 5-10 minutes. If youâre using an Ooni, each base will be ready in under a minute. So keep an eye on them!
- While your pizzas are baking, you or your partner can prep those plump strawberries in the meantime. Simply cut their tops off and halve them.
- Once the bases are cooked and while theyâre still warm, spread on the Nutella and add top with the strawberries.
- Now, if youâre like us and youâre feeling a little extra, add in any additional toppings â marshmallows, banana, crushed nuts, etc.
- Put your pizzas back in the oven for 5 minutes to heat through (or a few seconds on your Ooni!) so the chocolate spread is delightfully gooey, (read: swimming in chocolate!) and youâre done.
- Indulge in big slices straight away â preferably with a glass of wine or bubbly in hand.Â
