As many have noted, this pan ain't cheap. Being sceptical - or, let's say, cautious - I took my time before taking the plunge and buying it. This despite the fact that it had wall-to-wall 5-star reviews right here. They were all dead right; and I'm now joining in the chorus. This pan is SERIOUS. Heavy enough to stun a buffalo - well, not really, but solid in a way that makes you feel the engineering that's gone into it - and the heat distribution and non-stickability are astounding; so far at any rate. I've used it about 5 times now - for kudu steaks, fresh salmon, chicken curry and more - and not only does everything move around the pan like a sliding oyster, but the browning is perfectly even. And cleaning it is a breeze - let it cool down, add a drop or two of washing-up liquid, take a soft sponge to it and 10 seconds later, you're done. A dream to use

A beautiful pan. Food just glides off. A dream to cook with.

The only downside is that it is rather heavy when holding one handed to pour out cooked items. Also a little clumsy and heavy to wash if you have a small sink.

Impressed with quality, does as advertised still new though. Disappointed in cooking stew with bones in resulting in large scratches on the surface. Hard learn, do not cook anything with bones. I bought a separate glass lid with it but does not purposely fit snug on the pan so again disappointed as juices over flowed but probably my fault for not asking questions beforehand.
All in all we love the pan, it does as specified, I was hoping for a complete unit but now realise the limitation - no bones. A review in 2 years time would be better once the pan has "run in". Read more

Cooked my first steak in it and was delighted. It stands up to the higher temperatures needed for browning and is deep enough to gently cook stews etc. Like a comfortable pair of shoes it is worth the money.

It really is the world’s best pan. Great for cooking just about anything — in terms of size and heat distribution — and the best part is that clean up is a dream!

I am so excited when cooking with this pan. Super non-stick, takes more heat than any other non-stick pan, goes from stovetop to oven, so easy to clean, a joy from beginning to end!

I've come to the conclusion that non-stick pans - even the best - need to be replaced every five years, so this was a replacement for a 28cm Scanpan (and I'm happy to report that their lid fits!) Our initial impressions are very good indeed - it does all the things it says on the box. We particularly like the deep sides, which make it easy to stir in pasta after making a sauce, or the rest of the stew after browning the onions. It's our first AMT Gastroguss so only time will tell how long it lasts, but first impressions are definitely worthy of five stars. Read more

My parents-in-law bought these pans a while ago and I used it at their house to cook food. I was super impressed and so I have been eyeing these pans in the shops ever since. I am still super impressed by the pans' performance, it just cooks food perfectly and predictably. It is also so easy to clean afterwards! I don't dread cooking food anymore, because I know it will be easy to clean.

I have a few of the AMT pans and I love them and consider them the best, but I didn't notice that this pan doesn't work with induction — which is a major disappointment as I was buying it specifically for my induction hob. The previous AMT pans I bought worked with induction so I assumed this one would…my error!
