Product info

This is a serious Grenache from old vines in Piekenierskloof, delivering depth without heaviness. It opens with smoky, lifted aromatics of black berries, wilted rose, fynbos, and spice, then moves into a palate of dense fruit, bright acidity, and firm, fine tannins that keep everything precise and structured. Powerful, but always composed.

About Lourens Family Wines

Lourens Family Wines is a small, family-run winery founded in 2016 by Franco “Poenie? Lourens. Rooted in the Western Cape, the brand focuses on honest, site-driven wines that let the vineyards — and the farmers who tend them — speak for themselves. With minimal intervention, no added yeast, acid, enzymes, or fining agents, and maturation only in older neutral oak, each bottle carries Poenie’s personal touch and a true reflection of its unique terroir.

Care instructions

  • Wine should be stored in a cool, dark place with a consistent temperature, ideally around 12–15°C, to preserve its character and longevity
  • Bottles should be kept on their side to keep the cork moist, preventing air from seeping in
  • Avoid direct sunlight, vibration, and fluctuating temperatures, as these can damage the wine’s quality over time
