About Eight Gates
Eight Gates Wine is the brainchild of Carlo and Kolja, two lifelong friends who bonded over their love of wine after meeting in Cape Town in 1990. With Carlo’s winemaking know-how and Kolja’s business savvy, they started their venture at 50, inspired by the 'eight gates of wisdom' they believe we pass through in life’s second act. Focused on authenticity, family, and collaboration, Eight Gates Wine is all about enjoying life’s best moments — whether through hand-crafted barrels or working with trusted growers. Cheers to friendship, flavour, and a little wisdom!
