Product info
The original Earl Grey tea was named after Charles Grey, the Second Earl Grey in the 18th century, who commissioned a Chinese mandarin to blend a tea to suit the water at his family home. Bergamot was added to offset lime in the local water and a very special tea was born, proving popular amongst the social elite.
This tea is based on Chinese black tea, flavoured with bergamot oil (a Sicilian relative of the lemon) and finally accented with beautiful blue cornflowers. A classic that every teapot should be well-acquainted with.

Customer Reviews & Ratings
Not quite Earl Grey
This is a delicious, mild flavoured tea and would work better if renamed. It lacks fullness and the distinct Bergamot flavour of a really good Earl Grey.
I would recommend this product to a friend.

A delightful tea
The tea has a very subtle bergamont tastes, and not as strong as other earl grey teas that I have tried before. It still has a pleasant taste and aroma to it. I do enjoy this tea very much.

Good Tea
Hard to come by good Earl Grey tea in SA, loose-leaf especially so. So the fact that this stuff is particularly good, is a bonus. Very enjoyable, balanced flavours of bergamot with the black tea. If you're looking for more powerful bergamot flavour, I would say this is still on the subtle side - but excellent.
