Welcome to the world of Mervyn Gers, where each tableware item is individually handmade in their Cape Town studio using their own clay, designs and glazes. Clay is mixed with finely milled ceramic, to create a rougher texture, which is then shaped and fired at up to 1220°C to create strong, long-lasting stoneware. These individually handcrafted glazed side plates have a beautifully organic look and are perfect for serving starters and sides.

Small Base - use for cake
Very small base for a side plate, if you put a piece of bread on it and want to butter it, it is not steady and flips due to the small base touching the table. I will only use it to serve cake on. Very beautiful though.

My perfect Matte Black
I am a huge fun of anything local. Mervyn Gers products are unique, I love the set of 4 side plates, they are so perfect for any table. Just note that Mervyn Gers products tend to be a bit heavy, hope the kitchen cupboards can take the load. I highly recommend it.

Good product!
Great product. A note for future buyer's that the colour is not consistent between batches and that there are surface imperfections in the glazing.

Love these.
I originally ordered the dinner plates and ended up buying the side plates and bowls too, love them. Each one is slightly different, they are sturdy, beautiful and dishwasher-proof proof ;) Money well spent.

Absolutely beautiful!
Each item is unique in colour and shape, which I love! Good quality and each plate is balanced perfectly on a flat surface. Mix & match various colours, they look stunning together!
