Banhoek Chilli Oil is handmade in small batches using the finest Overberg-farmed canola oil and Bird's Eye chillies, grown and dried in the Swartland. Cooked using induction heating to ensure consistent heating levels, the result is a subtle chilli spice that enhances the flavours of dishes without overpowering them.

Wow. Trying to find a chilli oil that is not too hot is so difficult. Most have the actual chillies in the bottle which means it gets hotter as time marches on. Also the packaging is superb! Ideal gift as well if you are bored of taking a bottle of wine all the time.

I love cooking and trying out new recipes and experimenting with food and wine. I have just come across Bahnhoek Chili oil, so thought I would give it a try. I LOVE it, a must in any kitchen. The chilli is in perfect balance, not too hot but adds that zing and flavour to any meal.

It is so difficult to find a product that adds that much needed "hot" undertones without changing the flavour of the food.

Banhoek Chilli Oil on the other hand enhances the flavour of food without taking away from it. The level of "hot" is just right so that you don't have to drench your food in oil to get get some of that wonderful chilli taste.

Really tasty.
Canola oil, not the healthiest though. Will look for alternate oil type on next chilli oil purchase. Only for health reasons, nothing to do with the taste.

The TV review on this item said it was very mild, with a nice chilli flavour. We have used this oil, and it is spicy and HOT!

I have quite an appetite for heat, so I was really hoping for that so that I no longer have to import chilli oil from Rwanda and Uganda. Unfortunately, I didn't get that; but the upside is that because it's so mild you can have it with pretty much everything. And the whole household can enjoy it together.
