Baking with Coconut Oil

I have a recipe for cupcakes which uses coconut oil. The fact that coconut oil is not in a liquid form, would it be advisable to first melt the coconut oil and then measure out how much I need or to measure out the more solid form it originally comes in and use it in that way? Thanks!

It depends on how the recipe gives the measurement. If it is grams then I weigh it, but if it is in mls then I melt it. Hope this helps :)
