What is the difference between using margarine and butter when it comes to baking?
In what kind of recipes can you substitute butter with margarine?
Does it make a difference in the end product?

Margarine is made from plant fat and butter from animal fat (cream).

Almost any recipe works with either, but a lot of people prefer butter for the taste and richness. I'd also not recommend attempting things like puff pastry with margarine, as the fat plays a very significant role.

So in most cases this is just a matter of personal preference. :)

Hi Deolinda

For me there is no either/or - it's butter all the way! It gives a lovely creamy texture and flavour to whatever it is that you are baking.
