Ingredients Substitutes

Zarina S. | 19 Aug 2014 in Recipes (Category closed) | 1 Response

Hi, I would very much like to try your cheddar loaf recipe but minus the beer (and pancetta) Can I bake this without the beer? Could I use yeast perhaps???
Will really appreciate the feedback.

Thank you very much!

Hi there Zarina,

It's a real winner. We've tested other beer bread recipes using soda water as a substitute for beer, and cubed chicken or turkey as a substitute for the pancetta (or leave it out in total, but remember to add a little extra pinch of salt). We haven't tested this recipe with these substitutions, but it should work.

Good luck!
Sigrid
