Ideal gift

Nicolette P. | 07 Aug 2014 in Kitchen Tools & Appliances (Category closed) | 5 Responses

What would you suggest for someone, who enjoys baking and some cooking, as a birthday gift? They already have a fair amount of baking equipment. Budget is +- R450-500.
Thanks!

I can never have enough spatulas. A great gift would also be a silpat - something I use a lot.

Hi Nicolette,

I love my ADE Bamboo Digital Scale and also my Kitchen Craft Three Tier Cooling Rack. A little hamper of top quality baking supplies like 00 Flour, Nielssen Massey Vanilla Essence, vanilla pods and good quality Valrhona chocolate will also never go amiss :) Good luck and happy shopping.

This egg separator is an absolute must have for any kitchen i think! It looks funky and works beautifully! http://www.yuppiechef.com/fusionbrands.htm?id=11393&name=Fusionbrands-YolkR-Egg-Separator

An absolute time saver also is this awesome scissors http://www.yuppiechef.com/kitchen-craft-cooks-tools.htm?id=2417&name=Kitchen-Craft-5-Blade-Herb-Scissors&ref=search

And then of course any kind of durable chef knife is a must have - makes any chopping / cutting job so much easier !!!!!!!

I agree with Tandy on the Silpat. Such a useful piece of equipment. Maybe you could also get her some good quality baking ingredients.
