Moko Coffee pot burning coffee after new seal installed

Hi, I've had this Bialetti moka pot over twenty years and replaced the rubber seal about once a year. But following the latest seal replacement, the coffee does not flow out into the top reservoir in the normal calm "overflowing" manner but bubbles and spurts from the first appearance of coffee. I'm using the same coffee and grind and the same gas burner on medium as I always have, with the water level just below the pressure safety valve. There is no apparent leakage anywhere and the behaviour is the same - bubbles, spurts and burnt coffee - even with the flame on low. What's gone wrong?

Hi Paul. We've been in touch with the supplier and he thinks it might be the funnel that needs replacing. If you'd like to forward an email to [email protected] we'll see if we can assist you...

Greetings Paul. I'm not too sure what to suggest here. Maybe we should just try another seal - perhaps the new one is just ineffective? We've tried calling the supplier and left a message, but their office is closed currently. We'll try again later and hope to have a solution or some options to consider in due course.

What a pleasure Paul... We're happy to try and source the part if you'd like to go that route. Or happy to ship you a new one if you feel like treating yourself :)

Take care
Evan
