Bread dough

Jenny V. | 19 Feb 2014 in Cooking School | 1 Response

Hi, I am about to start the bread section of the course and have two questions:
1) once the bread has been baked, can you freeze and defrost for use later?
2) how long can you keep the uncooked dough in the fridge before baking?

Many thanks

Hi Jenny,

You can keep bread in the freezer and use it later. It's nice if it's sliced before you put in it then you can take out a few slices at a time.

It should be fine to keep your uncooked dough in the fridge for a few days before baking. You may need to knock it back a little and it may require a bit more flour since it might have gotten a bit gooey.

Hope that helps.
Happy baking.
