Best grater
Hi
Any suggestions as to the best grater for things like carrots, cabbage, onions etc. Have a Kenwood food processor, but doesn't work well enough.
Thanks

Hi Mike
It depends on the type of grating you'd like to do but perhaps a mandoline is what you are looking for? Take a look at the Mandolines & Slicers category here: http://www.yuppiechef.com/mandolines-and-slicers.htm
The Gefu one may be a good option: http://www.yuppiechef.com/gefu.htm?id=6841&name=Gefu-Violino-Gourmet-Mandoline-Slicer
Hope this helps, let us know if you need any further info.
Thanks

Ah, then it's probably best to use a food processor. What is it about yours that is not working for you? Is it the grater size or its effectiveness in grating?
Got an old Kenwood Gourmet. Effectiveness in grating, specifically things like carrots. Just seems to sort of rub at them, rather than grate them. May be quality of the cutting surfaces?
Hmm, that doesn't sound good at all. Has it always been like this or did it work previously? It may be worth replacing the blade - unfortunately we don't have any spare parts for this machine, but we may be able to help you get in contact with the distributor in SA. If you are interested, drop me a mail at [email protected]
Otherwise, perhaps it's time for a new food processor? We may be able to help you with that too :)
Take care

A mandoline slicer is the best choice for grating your veggies. It has a sharper blade, safety guard incorporated, easy to cuts foods into proper shape. I have been using this device for last 2 years. If you want you can check the reviews of these products.
