The IKON knife handles are manufactured from African Blackwood. As a result of its extreme density, minimal porosity and high resin content, this wood species is highly insensitive to moisture.

It is an excellent knife for sure. But you will easily ruin the wood ikon range if you expose it to water for too long. You may want to consider the classic range if you are not super picky about how you treat your knives. Does feel good in the hand when it is new and well cared for.
Beautiful too. Personally I would go for the Epicure above the Classic and Ikon.
I would recommend this product to a friend.
