9 foodie Instagram accounts you just have to follow

Are you on Instagram? We are and we delight in seeing all the creative foodies out there. We touched base with Andrea van der Spuy, our in house gem of a photographer and resident inspiration seeker, on her favourite foodies to follow on Instagram. Feast your eyes on these.

1. Ice Cream Community

When a local chef quit his job at Tokara to pursue his passion for making ice cream, this wonderful Ice Cream Community came about. ‘He brings together the most amazing combinations of ingredients, like beetroot and honeycomb, strawberry and basil swirl, popcorn and popcorn brittle.’ Sounds amazing, right?

2. The Table Food

This local husband and wife team run the well known restaurant The Table at de Meye. Their dishes are seasonal, simple and locally sourced. Check out The Table Food feed for their homely, uncluttered take on good food.

3. The Feed Feed

Here’s a foodie feed that thrives off encouraging other home gourmets to share their inspiration and recipes by tagging it #feedfeed, to then be featured in The Feed Feed. ‘It’s a lovely mix of light and dark images sweet and savoury  a combination of a whole community of foodies.’

4. Diana Dontsova

What’s happening in Sweden you might ask. The lovely food blog from Diana Dontsova. A slightly more moody feed featuring all things food, Diana plays with lovely textures, pops of colour and the dalliance of light. We like.

5. Food Stories

We like stories. Especially ones about food. And this Food Stories feed from Nora and Laura, Berlin based food photographers and stylists pretty much sums it up. Take a peek at their conversational style. You’ll feel like you’re at the table with them.

6. The First Mess

Meet the feed from a Canadian food blogger and stylist. If simple, playful and fun appeal to you, check this one out, because The First Mess makes everything foodie seem just so easy and delicious.

7. What For Breakfast

Another Berliner, Martha Gerber’s ideas and pics on What For Breakfast are so tasty, we’re sure they would even make it onto our dinner tables. A looker of a feed for early bird inspiration.

8. Cook Republic

Cook Republic is the offshoot feed from Australian foodie, Sneh Roy’s blog Tasty Express. Not only did she win best Aussie Blog 2013, but her pics have a charming warmth to them.

9. David Griffen

For some really stunning food photography, this feed from David Griffen is packed with moreish pics that look practically edible. He seems to capture that ‘I just made this’ moment perfectly.

That’s some seriously tasty social media for you. Who are your Instagram favourites?
