With a sturdy, die-cast zinc construction and a large capacity chamber, the garlic press crushes cloves with a simple squeeze. The efficient hole pattern easily pushes garlic through the press and it has an integrated cleaner to get rid of excess bits of garlic.

Strong and effective

As a garlic addict, a good quality and easy to clean press is essential to my kitchen, and I have high standards for one. Not cheap, but I find it strong enough also to crush my other addiction, ginger, effectively, and am satisfied with my purchase.

I rated this a three because it leaves behind a large amount of garlic which won't press through. My previous press on left behind a very thin skin. It is does have a comfortable grip and strong handles.

Very good ... but not excellent

Pros: very well made, feels heavy and very solid. I think this is unlikely to break and should last a long time. The rubber coated handle is great, very comfortable to use. Super easy to clean, although the "self-cleaning teeth" are a bit of a gimmick. Would make no difference without them.
Cons: because the surface that does the crushing is completely flat (rather than having protrusions that match the grid holes to push the garlic through) its very inefficient. It leaves about 1/4 or 1/3 of the garlic behind in the press is a squashed mass that can't be used and must basically be discarded. This is a really obvious, and therefore hard-to-understand, design flaw in an otherwise very well thought-out and well-made product.
So I recommend it based on it being fairly well priced, probably will last a life time, comfortable to use and super easy to clean. But if throwing away 1/4 to 1/3 of your garlic is going to bug you, rather look for something else. Read more

It is a pleasure to purchase a product that makes your kitchen experience better. Many other presses squirt the garlic out the sides and getting the garlic out turns into a fight, poking around with a knife point, but not with this product. There is also ample room for even larges cloves. Highly recommended.

Heavy and solid product. Easy to use, ergonomic design - kind on your hands and wrists. Works better if you pre-peel the garlic. An amount of unused garlic will remain in the chamber.

We have been through a number of flimsy garlic presses that wouldn't crush, but this one is a winner!
Straight away you can feel it is sturdy, heavy and will not bend, we love it & would recommend this as a staple for any kitchen!

Very solid construction, quite heavy to hold, but the thicker handles make it easy to grip and squeeze, especially when your hands are not as strong as they used to be. Very nice item and delivered exactly on time.

We are a family who LOVE garlic and literally eat it daily and believe in fresh garlic only, which I peel and crush daily.
I am so very happy with my new Oxo garlic crusher. It's sturdy, takes a lot of garlic at a time, crushes perfectly and so easy to clean. I LOVE it and so happy to have mine!!

I've bought a hand beater and can opener from Oxo some time ago and I was pleasantly surprised with the excellent quality. I have a fantastic garlic crusher from a famous chef but I left it at our beach house some time ago and needed one for home. That's when I saw the Oxo garlic crusher on Yuppiechef and I thought to give it a go. I cannot begin to tell you how pleased I am with this amazing product. I am a garlic addict and keep huge quantities of garlic cleaned and frozen (whole cloves). I take these straight from the freezer and mince (frozen) it with this amazing press. Expensive but you will never buy another garlic press.

It may be a bit pricier than other garlic presses available, but it's such good quality it should last for years. It feels satisfyingly heavy, crushes multiple cloves in one go with minimal "leakage" and is easy to clean. None of this having to pick crushed garlic out of its workings with a knife. And it goes in the dishwasher. Enough said, it's brilliant.

This is the best garlic crusher I have ever had. It's worth every cent.
The non-slip handle is brilliant and because of the size, you don't struggle to press down.
You can also put several cloves in the chamber so it makes light work of mushing your garlic.

After all the great reviews and waiting for this item to come back into stock, I am a little disappointed. Even when pressing with skin off, there is a considerable amount of "waste" left.
When I'm not in a hurry I will go back to mincing my garlic with a knife and pinch of salt.
