I gave this item as a gift to a friend, and when seeing it myself was truly embarrassed.
The lock mechanism is "brittle", and the prick is off centre. Using the item is difficult as the spring gives little resistance and you're likely to crack the egg rather than pricking it.
I also somehow believed it had a magnet to attach to the fridge, but it doesn't.

This product is small, sleek and simple to use.
Perfect boiled eggs every time. This product stays in tact and does not come apart like its plastic counterpart. The safety feature also prevents getting pricked during cleaning.

This little gadget would have made boiling eggs so much easier over the past 45 years had I had one when i first started boiling eggs.

Bought it a few months ago, seemed a good idea to be able to lock it, but on unlocking one has to try and coax the pin into the middle to use it. Have probably used it 5 - 10 times max, then the pin broke off. Won’t even give it 1 star rating.

Great product. Does EXACTLY what it should, repeatedly. Pinhole is small enough to do the job without egg white oozing out.

Very nice (and stylish!) egg pricker. The only small issue is that it can get stuck if you don't operate it completely level/parallel to the base, but once you've got that figured out, it works a treat.

What a piece of rubbish. It is so cheaply made and works so badly that you should rather use a sharp pointed knife to prick eggs until you find something better. I read the bad reviews on this and thought “how bad can it be, it just makes a small hole in the egg. These guys must be expecting too much!” Well, I don’t know how many eggs we have broken while trying to make a pin-prick hole. There must be something better out there. Read more
