Product Info

One of the most widely drunk beverages in the world, coffee is close to many people's hearts, and like wine, the area it is grown affects the taste and flavour profile (along with other factors, including roast, freshness, and so on). Legado sources beans from all over the world, roasting them in sunny Stellenbosch. These beans are decaffeinated through a magical-sounding process called Swiss Water Decaffeinating, isolating the caffeine and removing it, leaving a smooth, tasty beverage with peanut butter and milk chocolate notes.

  • Tasting notes: thick, smooth, peanut butter, milk chocolate
  • Medium roast
  • Beans sourced from Honduras

Freshly roasted within two weeks.

The decaffeinating process presents something of a mystery to most folk, especially as it seems a bit too good to be true. This great decaf coffee does nothing to dispel that myth, as it uses the rather fairytale-esque Swiss Water Process Decaffeination. Swiss Water Process uses the elements of water, temperature and time to create some of the most intriguing decaf coffee. First, we start with small batches of amazing coffee and green coffee extract. Then we add local water and a dash of loving attention by monitoring time and temperature until the coffee is 99.9% caffeine free. It is a completely chemical-free method, and produces a delicious cup.

I start off each morning with Legado's Espresso blend coffee, either in my espresso machine or ground for my French Press. I also end off my evening's with another cup of coffee.

This is an very tasty decaf from Legado. I especially like the subtle peanut butter after taste after each sip that lingers at the back of your mouth.

Decaf beans can often have a dark, bitter after taste. These beans are really smooth and buttery. Best decaf I've had.
