Khoisan Tea Organic Green Matcha

This is good matcha but the image is deceiving. Check the size before you buy, the tin is really tiny. 30g of matcha is about 3 heaped tablespoons.

I usually purchase another brand of matcha but I was willing to give Khoisan Gourmet a chance due to their price. I can now see that the price was very much indicative of the lower-quality matcha they source. Upon opening the tin I was greeted by a further packet inside.

As a regular matcha drinker, this was unexpected, as was the long expiration date, based on my understanding, matcha should not last for 4 years, even when sealed directly after grinding. Then, upon opening the bag, the colour of the matcha itself was very disappointing. Instead of the bright green, chlorophyll-rich, powder, I expected it was a muted, somewhat brown green. This is indicative of very inferior quality matcha. I will not be buying from this brand again.

This is the best product to substitute drinking loads of green tea. It's so much goodness in one serving! Absolutely worth it :)

It doesn't state the country of origin, but is decently authentic. The powder is very fine, vibrantly green, and is not of the instant variety.

My Japanese style sweets and breads come out almost as good as they did when I lived in Japan and had access to the very best.
