What is Miles D-Day?
Ordinarily, qualifying Discovery Bank primary accountholders (who have a Discovery Bank Transaction Account, Discovery Bank Card Account or Discovery Bank Suite) are eligible for up to 20% off when they spend their Discovery Miles with certain retail partners, including for Yuppiechef online purchases.
Customers get a 5% discount for each of the following Discovery products that they have:
- Vitality Money = 5%
- Vitality Health = 5%
- Vitality Drive = 5%
- Discovery Bank Suite with an activated Vitality Money status = 5%
This means a maximum 20% off your Yuppiechef shop, if you have all four products.
On the 15th of each month, however, starting from 15 July 2021, Discovery Bank will double that discount to 10% per product for Miles D-Day, creating a maximum 40% discount, for 24 hours only (from 00:00 to 23:59), when shopping with your Miles.
Members need to make sure that they have downloaded the latest version of the Discovery Bank app (released 7 July 2021) to get the discount.
Vitality Health and Vitality Drive members need to have a Discovery Bank product and activate Vitality Money in order to qualify.
How do I know what discount I qualify for?
Make sure you’ve downloaded the latest version of the Discovery Bank app (released 7 July 2021) and check the “Discovery Miles” tab within the app. There you'll see the automatic 5% to 20% discount you'll qualify for every day. On the 15th of each month, this discount will be doubled to between 10% and 40% for 24 hours.
How do I claim my discount?
- Complete your online shopping
- At checkout, select Discovery Miles to pay for purchases
- Log in to the payment platform using your Discovery details
- The up-to-40% discount will be deducted from your purchase automatically during checkout.
When checking the total, remember that ordinarily, the Rand value x 10 would give you the Miles value. The Miles value that you're actually shown as being charged will be up to 40% lower than that total, depending on the discount level you're eligible for.

Can I claim my discount in a Yuppiechef store?
No, the discount is only available for online Yuppiechef purchases, and at a selection of other Discovery retail partners.
