What is Discovery Miles D-Day?

Ordinarily, qualifying Discovery Bank primary account holders (who have a Discovery Bank Transaction Account, Discovery Bank Credit Card Account or Discovery Bank Suite) with Vitality Money are eligible for up to 15% off when they spend their Discovery Miles with certain retail partners, including for Yuppiechef online purchases.

Customers get a 5% discount for each of the following Vitality programmes that they have activated:

• Vitality Money = 5%
• Vitality Health = 5%
• Vitality Drive = 5%

This means a maximum 15% off your Yuppiechef shop, if you have all three Vitality programmes

On the 15th of each month, Discovery Bank will double that discount to 10% per product for Miles D-Day, creating a maximum 30% discount, for 24 hours only (from 00:00 to 23:59), when shopping with your Discovery Miles. (This offer is also occasionally run on other promotional days outside of the 15th, like Black Friday, when communicated.)

Qualifying Discovery Bank clients with Vitality Money need to make sure that they have downloaded the latest version of the Discovery Bank app to get the discount.Vitality Health and Vitality Drive members need to have a qualifying Discovery Bank product and activate Vitality Money in order to qualify.

How do I know what discount I qualify for?

Make sure you’ve downloaded the latest version of the Discovery Bank app and check the “Discovery Miles” spend tab within the app. There you'll see the automatic 5% to 15% discount you'll qualify for every day of the month. On the 15th of each month, this discount will be doubled to between 10% and 30% for 24 hours.

How do I claim my discount?

1. Complete your online shopping
2. At checkout, select Discovery Miles to pay for purchases
3. Log in to the payment platform using your Discovery details
4. The up-to-30% discount will be deducted from your purchase automatically during checkout.

When checking the total, remember that ordinarily, the Rand value x 10 would give you the Discovery Miles value. The Discovery Miles value that you're actually shown as being charged will be up to 30% lower than that total, depending on the discount level you're eligible for.

Can I claim my discount in a Yuppiechef store?

No, the discount is only available for online Yuppiechef purchases, and at a selection of other Discovery retail partners.
