As a self proclaimed kitchenware snob, I bought this pan because of the reputation De Buyer has. I was expecting a beautiful, functional and durable product and that was exactly what I was greeted with. Very good pan but why no lids?

There is something old-fashioned about cooking with this pan — a time before we were terrified of fats. Because this is as far from non-stick as it comes. This does not mean you will be shallow-frying everything in it, but it is the pan in which, for example, your eggs need to be cooked on a "bed" of bacon or sausage.
