Crisp and clean, the Krystal Weiss is a local German-style beer. Clear-filtered with a pleasant fruitiness and light carbonation, this weiss beer has a well-balanced flavour with moderate acidity on the finish.
- Light, golden weiss beer
- Frothy, white head that dissipates quickly
- Notes of grapefruit and lemon, with pleasant fruitiness
Rob Heyns' Tasting Notes:
November 2014 - Weizen are more commonly consumed Mit-Heffe, which means with yeast or unfiltered so as to maintain maximum flavour. The Krystal is thus meant to be the cleaner, lighter, more refreshing weizen style. Krystal Weiss is most often served in Bavaria with lemon. In SA these days we have access to lemony hops from the States and this beer has hints of lemon in it already due to the use of these hop styles.
