SA Food & Wine Blogger Indaba 2012

For anyone interested in writing about food, styling it, photographing it and eating it, this year’s SA Food & Wine Blogger Indaba provided inspiration by the bucket load. For the third year running, the Indaba was organised by Colleen Grove (aka @CollyWolly) and surpassed all expectations. The SA food blogging ante has been upped, yes siree.
Held at the Pick n Pay conference centre on a cold, dark and drizzly morning in the Mother City, this year’s Indaba was a golden opportunity to meet old and new friends. In this brave new world, putting a face to a twitter handle is kind of special.

It was also a chance to be entertained and taught a thing or two by our speakers, including Jeanne Horak-Druiff, Alida Ryder, Linda Harding, Carine Visagie, John Gardner and our very own Paul Galatis and, as MC, Nomu’s Paul Raphaely steered the Indaba ship. The afternoon was packed with workshops from champagne and canapé  pairing to food styling with Sam Linsell and food photography.
We feel proud to have been involved in such a top notch event and would like to extend a hearty thanks to Wusthof for their support. On arrival every guest was handed a Wusthof Classic Mini Super Slicer and Spreader. Have you tried yours? It’s an impressive little guy who will no doubt become a good friend in the kitchen.

Thanks too to all involved (those goodie bags were mightily impressive).

Hope to see you all again next year.
