I've used this baking dish twice now, for oven-baked lamb shanks. It is outstanding. The dish held up well in oven temperatures up to 200 C, and the handles are just big enough to grip while not taking up much space in the oven. The lid and dish have a good fit, so very little moisture escapes during cooking. The dish looks good and retains heat after cooking, so it is excellent for table service. Despite the baked-on messy spatter that is inevitable during baking or roasting meat or vegetables, it cleaned perfectly first time around on the regular setting in the dishwasher, without rinsing or soaking. The dish is big enough for four large lamb shanks or six medium ones, or one medium lamb leg roast. I highly recommend it, especially at this price. It is a design triumph. Everyone needs a baking dish, and if you can make sure it's from Le Creuset, you must. This would be a perfect gift (I've never known a person that doesn't like Le Creuset).

Worth a buy. The lid is unnecessary, I hardly use it. Just go for a cheaper one without the lid unless you are planning to serve with it.

It is just so useful and just the right size
Only drawback for me is as an older person the dish is very heavy even before u put anything in it
But I still enjoy it and have bought more

I’ve been using this Le Creuset stoneware baking dish for a while now, and it’s honestly one of the most reliably beautiful pieces in my kitchen. The stoneware feels weighty and well-made, giving even heat for things like lasagne or roast veggies — nothing cooks unevenly. The glazed finish is super smooth, and food practically releases itself, which makes cleaning so much less of a chore.
