Fired at temperatures of 840°C, the super smooth enamel finish of Le Creuset cast iron is durable and hygienic. Which means that everything you stew, braise or simmer in a Le Creuset casserole will taste just as good as you intended.
It's ideal for:
Simmering tender and succulent one-pot casseroles
Preparing a risotto or a pot roast
Serving a hot soup or a cold gazpacho
Boiling pasta or vegetables
Stewing apples, apricots
The essential kitchen classic from Le Creuset can be used on any stove top, or in the oven and even to serve from.
Perfect heat distribution: The base, side walls and lid are all of the same quality and thickness so there are no areas where heat can be lost rapidly. Heat is distributed evenly, preventing hot spots. The phenolic knob on the lid is heat resistant to 200°C.
Energy efficient: Once hot, you require only a low to medium heat setting to maintain a good cooking performance. Furthermore, the pan can be removed from the heat, leaving the food to cook in its own heat. It even keeps its warmth on the serving table.
Perfectly fitting lids ensure that heat, moisture and flavours are tightly sealed in.
It will never warp and therefore always maintain its shape and flat, steady base.
Suitable for all heat sources including ceramic, halogen or induction hobs, gas, electric, solid fuel or rayburn.
Oven, grill, freezer and dishwasher safe.
The vitreous enamel cooking surface is extremly durable, easy to clean and completely hygienic being impervious to flavours and odours.
Perfect to hold foods that are marinating or for storing foods (raw or cooked) in the refrigerator or freezer.
The interior enamel is a smooth gloss finish in a sand colour, except with the satin black which has a matt black enamel. Both clean easily by hand or in the dishwasher if used in accordance with the care and use instructions that come with the product.

All my friends went in last year and got me this pot for my birthday. It started a riot!
I'm utterly addicted now and have been collecting pieces monthly. It's awesome.
Best advice I can give you, consider it your Sunday car. Keep a few key stainless items, these pots hold up but I don't rip it out to boil pasta in for example. It's a slow braise, a stew, a soup, making yoghurt, rice, etc. I use the buffet casseroles in the oven, as the phenolic knob only handles temperatures up to 190 C. Easy way to get past this issue is to buy one replacement stainless steel knob that can handle the 400 C the pots can. Very important on cleaning - the cream Le Creuset cleaner is a waste of your money, if you manage to burn food, soak it immediately and use baking soda in a dryish paste to clean - my pots are spotless and I do my milk to make yoghurt in it once a week. Otherwise it WILL stain. It won't take away from the use at all, it's just for aesthetic purposes. I like them to look perfect. :)
I would recommend this product to a friend.
