What the Yuppiechefs say

Having the benefit of using one of these in the office almost daily we can honestly say this machine blurs the line between professional machines seen at the coffee houses and your ordinary, one purpose espresso machine. The ample workspace allows you to make coffee easily while steaming milk and moving things around. It really is a a breeze with the two separate boilers with their own temperature gauges.

"Best purchase to date!"

This machine has made me a happier person. The quality of espresso it produces is excellent. It has been said that 'manual' espresso machines are more admin that the pod variety, however I must say that I find it as low hassle as I could wish for. Do get the matching grinder (or any grinder) as you will find there is a significant improvement in flavour if you use freshly ground beans.
Very Happy. Highly Recommended.

"It doesn't get much better than this."

This machine is definitely one of the best on the market in terms of home espresso. Having worked on professional coffee machines in cafés (such as Wegas and La Marzoccos) I am familiar with quality espresso and the KitchenAid counterpart certainly holds it own.

It has a double boiler which is capable of producing 15 bars of pressure and features include temperature and pressure dials to inform you when the machine is ready.

It is perfectly simple to operate and supplies us with consistent, delicious espresso. The only feature that frustrates is the pointed steam wand which makes achieving micro foam slightly more tricky, but nothing a bit of practise hasn't put right. The railing around the top cup-warmer also comes loose which is annoying but ultimately that is neither here nor there.

I would confidently recommend this machine to any discerning coffee drinker or barista.

"Very disappointing"

I was very excited about getting this machine, but what a let down. For all the features it's performance was very disappointing. The tamper is light plastic and you cannot get the right pressure. The extraction speed is far to high even after setting the grind to finest and enormous pressure on the tamping. The best I could get was about 7 seconds when it's supposed to be around 16 - 22 seconds. The steamer pressure is way too low and you can't get a decent swirl going in the milk. It loses pressure within a few minutes. Overall, amateur machine that looks like a "prosumer" machine and performs like a cheap auto espresso maker. For the price I expected much much more. You can never get a professional espressos, cappuchino or latte out of this machine. I can't and I am a qualified Barista. Yuppiechef, you don't test your products - not what I expected from you.
