Hi Fahmeeda,

A marble rolling pin is best for pastry because it can be chilled but if you are going to make cookies and things like pizza dough you will be fine with a wooden one. Alternatively you can go with something like a stay cool stainless steel rolling pin which will cover all of your bases, like this: http://www.yuppiechef.com/cuisipro.htm?id=1187&name=Cuisipro-Stay-Cool-Rolling-Pin&ref=search
While there is a "best" rolling pin for a task it often comes down to personal preference.
Hope this helps.
