Magimix Compact 1100W Food Processor, 5200XL — Colour: White

I received my Magimix about 3 weeks ago and I am very happy with my new food processor. I have baked a cake, made salad dressings with coriander, blend cream and egg whites. I am very impressed.

Yes, I would recommend this Food Processor to anyone. I have mine for 35+ years and I have had no problems with it. It works everyday and it is still working. Thumbs up!

I had to wait for the white mixer (the silver one was too expensive) - and it was worth the wait. I had to wrap my head around the fact that there's only one speed - automatic. But it handles whatever I put into the bowl like a pro.
I have yet to experiment with all the features, and I can't wait to make dough.
Don't know why I waited so long to replace my old, noisy, cracked food processor. Read more

My mom bought hers over 30 years ago and growing up we were a Magimix family. Now both my sister and I have one of the new models and the family recipes can continue. Oh yes, and my husband has used it more than me since it arrived. Brilliant mixer.

Hands down this is a must for any serious home cook. My old Tedelex food processor that was inherited and has been in use for +/-35 years finally gave up the ghost. The Magimix was the top of my list as it's the only one available in SA from the America's Test Kitchen Best Food Processor review. Pleasantly surprised by how quiet the motor is and the number of accessories that come with it. Haven't used all of them as yet, but so far the grater and standard blade have lived up to the hype. We'll see now over Christmas how it handles whipping eggs, blending banana for banana bread and juicing oranges. Read more

I have owned my Magimix 5200Xl for many years and I use it so often it has a place on my worktop.
It’s citrus season right now and the juice attachment has really come into its own. I can breeze though kilos of fresh oranges and get litres of juice ready to be frozen.
Grating carrots for carrot cake, mixing herbs and spices for marinades and even making peanut butter!
And the hummus! Oh my goodness, the hummus!
So many options from such a great machine.

I think it's a great machine in so far as it feels like quality, it is heavy and sturdy.
I do however, have a few concerns:
1. I can't seem to put too many veggies into the large mixing bowl because the blades don't seem to chop them all. I made gazpacho and added the cucumber, tomatoes and onion all at the same time but it took forever to eventually have them all chopped up.
/> 2. I've tried processing linseed in the small bowl but it has no effect whatsoever, the linseed remained in tack.
3. The medium sized bowl doesn't seem to have an attachment that fits into it to use it.
4. There is only one speed on the machine, so it's basically on and off and the pulse is the same speed as it being on. Read more
